Mayo had a poor start to the season after expressing frustration following his demotion to Triple-A; however, he is currently riding a nine-game hitting streak in which he has gone 9-for-25 (.360) with two home runs, eight RBI, and a 7:6 K:BB ratio. If he keeps hitting like this, he’ll force the Orioles to either find a spot for him or trade him for an established pitcher.

Sanchez’ home run was his second of the year. His slam off Connor Brogdon in the seventh inning put the Orioles ahead 9-2 and iced the game. Sanchez doesn’t have much fantasy value as the Orioles’ backup catcher, but he hit the ball well on his rehab assignment and has started off hot since coming off the IL on Saturday.

He hit a two-run shot off Kenley Jansen in the eighth inning — his seventh of the season. Westburg has hit three home runs and knocked in eight runs in five games since returning from the injured list. Now that he’s healthy, he looks like the player fantasy managers thought they were getting before the season.

Povich gave up three hits, walked one and struck out four. The 25-year-old left-hander followed Scott Blewett, who pitched the first inning as the opener for the Orioles. Povich has a 5.15 ERA on the year, but his 3.87 xFIP shows that he deserves better. Povich has allowed a .350 BABIP and stranded just 69 percent of runners and both of those numbers are well above league average. He would also have a better chance of securing wins if the Orioles continue to use an opener for his starts. Povich is lined up for a difficult matchup with the Yankees on the road next weekend.

Moncada has performed well when he’s been able to take the field this season, hitting .237/.336/.505 in 30 games. If this calms down quickly, he could return in 10 days. Until then, the Angels figure to use Luis Rengifo at third and go with Scott Kingery and Kevin Newman at second. Kingery is starting tonight.

Moncada returns to Los Angeles’ lineup at third base and batting third after missing only one game due to right knee soreness. It doesn’t appear to be a significant concern moving forward.

Moncada left Wednesday’s game against the Yankees with knee soreness, and he’ll miss at least one more game with the injury. Luis Rengifo will move over to third base, with Scott Kingery getting the start at second base in Moncada’s absence.
