Red Sox manager Alex Cora is going to keep shaking things up after his club snapped a six-game losing streak with Saturday’s decisive 15-1 drubbing of Toronto. It’s Romy González moving up to the leadoff spot to face lefty Eric Lauer with Duran shifting towards the bottom of the lineup card. The 28-year-old outfielder been mired in an extended slump, hitting .223/.293/.347 with one homer and three steals over his last 30 games. He’s posted a lackluster .547 OPS against left-handed pitching this season and could start to lose opportunities against southpaws in the coming weeks, especially if the Red Sox want to stay in playoff contention.

Buehler gave up a pair of solo homers in the first, only to rebound to retire the next two batters then, all six guys he faced in the second and third and two in a row to start the fourth. The next batter had a soft line drive single and everything unraveled afterwards; Buehler walked Ernie Clement, gave up an RBI single and then walked two more to force in another run. The inning only ended because Carlos Narváez picked off Tyler Heineman at first. Buehler was still at just 72 pitches for the day, but the Red Sox didn’t send him back out. He’s given up 14 runs over 11 1/3 innings in his last three starts, and it might be time for a mercy IL stint here. If not, he’ll face the Nationals next weekend.

Hicks figures to join Boston’s bullpen at some point during a three-game series against the Reds at Fenway Park, which gets underway on Monday evening. The hard-throwing 28-year-old was acquired earlier this month from the Giants in the Rafael Devers trade and figures to pitch in high-leverage spots.

Greene victimized Twins’ right-hander Chris Paddack for his 381-foot (102.6 mph EV) solo shot in the fourth inning that extended the Tigers’ lead to 2-0. That would be his only hit in four at-bats on the night, but proved to be more than enough run support for Tarik Skubal and company. Greene has had an outstanding first half, slashing .296/.348/.539 with 19 long balls and 63 RBI.
