Domínguez has been moved up to the top of New York’s batting order to face Mariners ace Logan Gilbert after hitting .392 (20-for-51) with two homers and four steals over his last 15 games. The 22-year-old former top prospect has legitimately been one of the hottest hitters in baseball of late and will aim to carry that momentum through next week’s All-Star break into the stretch run.

The Yankees needed to make room on the 40-man roster for Cam Schlittler to make his debut on Wednesday, so Hartleib was designated for assignment. He will likely clear waivers and return to the Yankees’ minor league system.

This move has been discussed for a few days, but is now official. The 24-year-old has been great this season with a 2.82 ERA, 1.21 WHIP, and 99/26 K/BB ratio across 76 2/3 innings (15 appearances, 14 starts) between Triple-A and Double-A. He has a high-velocity cut/ride fastball with two good secondaries, but his start on Wednesday against the Mariners will be a big step up in competition. If he performs well, he could remain in the rotation until Luis Gil returns and potentially even keep a spot over Marcus Stroman after that.

Stanton’s second homer in 17 games since returning from his elbow injuries helped knock Logan Gilbert out of what had been a 1-0 game in the sixth. He’s batting .241/.333/.379 right now, and while he’s definitely not quite yet hitting the ball consistently as hard as usual, the power is still very much there; he’s already topped out at 118 mph.

Loperfido has now started four straight games since being called up from Triple-A and is 5-for-11 in his first three games with one home run, one run, five RBI, and two strikeouts. The 26-year-old drastically reduced his strikeout rate in Triple-A this season thanks to a more selective approach. He still swings and missed a little more than you’d like, but he has the power to make up for it and that could make him an intriguing gamble in deeper formats right now.
