Chisholm remains at the hot corner despite some pointed postgame remarks following Tuesday’s game in Toronto where he seemed to express his displeasure at not being utilized at second base. Yankees manager Aaron Boone continues to inexplicably continue rolling with veteran DJ LeMahieu at the spot, despite the fact he’s been a complete disaster from a defensive standpoint. This feels like a potential powder keg situation that could explode at any point.

It’ll be Ben Rice drawing the start at catcher with Wells receiving another day off. The 25-year-old backstop is dealing with artery damage in his left index finger that leads to an intermittent cold sensation and discoloration. The positive news is that additional testing, including an invasive procedure, ruled out any potential blood clots or an aneurysm. It seems like he’ll avoid the injured list and there’s a chance he’s back in New York’s lineup at some point later this week.

The Westburg situation is extremely frustrating for fantasy managers since it sounds like he’s dead-set against going on the injured list and will need to manage the ongoing left index finger issue for the remainder of the year. He’ll sit out on Wednesday night for the fifth straight contest and eighth time in Baltimore’s last 10 games overall. It’ll be Ramón Urías continuing to handle the hot corner in his absence.

The homer off Max Fried was his first against a lefty this season. It was also a rare center field blast for a guy who typically has to pull the ball to get it over the fence. Gimenez, who came into the day right on the Mendoza Line (40-for-200 this season), is now batting .207/.293/.315.
