Crawford broke the game open in the second inning as he crushed a 1-2 slider from Luis Ortiz for a 377-foot (99.0 mph EV) grand slam to right field that increased the M’s advantage to 5-0. That would be his only hit on the afternoon but was more than enough to support Emerson Hancock and company. On the season, the 30-year-old shortstop is now hitting .296/.411/.413 with six homers and 29 RBI.

Arozarena worked Luis Ortiz for a walk to open the second inning and scored the game’s first run on an RB single off the bat of Miles Mastrobuoni. He walked again in the third inning and swiped second base but was left stranded there. The 30-year-old outfielder also walked in the fifth inning, stole second base and scored the M’s final run on an RBI single by Mitch Garver. Despite the poor batting average, he has done a nice job overall at the dish this season, slashing .231/357/.393 with eight homers, 28 RBI and 14 stolen bases.

The 29-year-old infielder actually opened the scoring in the ballgame as he smacked an RBI single off of Luis Ortiz in the home half of the second inning. He then rode home on J.P. Crawford’s game-changing grand slam. That would be Mastrobuoni’s only hit in four plate appearances on the day. For the season, he’s slashing an underwhelming .241/.323/.295 with just one home run, nine RBI and three stolen bases in 130 plate appearances.

Pages finished the evening 1-for-3 with a strikeout, though that one hit proved to be the difference in the ballgame. He has done a nice job for the Dodgers this season, slashing .281/.320/.480 with 13 long balls and 46 RBI.

As a team, the Guardians were only able to muster four hits (all singles) and one walk against Emerson Hancock and company. Thomas was the only member of the Guardians to reach base twice — with a two-out single off of Hancock in the second and a one-out walk off of the right-hander in the fifth inning. The 29-year-old outfielder has been swinging a hot bat since returning from the injured list and makes for an intriguing addition in deeper mixed leagues where he may still be available.
