This is not the second straight game with a grand slam for Kayfus, who now has nine home runs and 31 RBI in Triple-A. Perhaps more importantly, the left-handed hitter is hitting .255/.349/.509 against left-handed pitching this year. He’s racing teammate Chase DeLauter to be the next outfielder called up to the big leagues. Kayfus also plays first base, but that’s likely more of a 2026 destination for him with Carlos Santana and Kyle Manzardo in town this year.

Even with the Guardians facing a right-handed pitcher, Jones will head to the bench with Angel Martinez playing center field and Lane Thomas shifting over to right field. Jones’ swing decisions and contact metrics look good, but he’s hitting just .238/.340/.357 in 18 games in June with one home run and one steal. He can be left on the wire in most leagues.

Meadows is hitting just .172 in 19 games with 18 strikeouts and eight walks, but the Tigers are confident enough in him to play him against lefties and keep him in the lineup. Fantasy managers should also maintain the faith in Meadows, who remains an intriguing power/speed option in the outfield.

Adell has hit in eight straight games, though he had exactly one hit in each of the first seven of those. Of his 17 homers, 11 have come in his last 24 games. The Angels seem to be taking some notice, too; Adell batted fifth today after hitting no higher than sixth previously this year.

There were indications last night that Cruz might not play today after being pulled for forgetting how many outs there were last night, but while he did start, he was dropped in the lineup. He finished the day without a hard-hit ball, though he did reach on an Isaac Collins error on a fly to left. It could have been ruled a double, but not today.
