Trout gets his first day off since June 1 after launching a solo homer during Saturday’s one-sided win over the Nationals. The 33-year-old future Hall of Famer hasn’t experienced any issues with his surgically-repaired knee since coming back from the injured list, but the Angels have strictly limited him to DH in an effort to preserve his long-term health.

The 37-year-old hurler came on with a one-run lead to protect in the ninth inning and immediately got into trouble as Daylen Lile started the frame with a double to right field. After he was sacrificed to third, Jacob Young followed with an RBI single that tied the game. Jansen also walked James Wood intentionally in the inning before striking out Amed Rosario to end it. Jansen now sports a 4.40 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and a 26/11 K/BB ratio over 28 2/3 innings on the season while converting 15 of his first 16 save chances.

The 24-year-old right-hander walked two and struck out two on the day. After working three scoreless frames to start the day, he allowed a run on an RBI double by Brady House in the fourth inning. Kochanowicz then exited with two men on and no outs in the fifth inning and one of those runners scored against the Halos’ bullpen. He got just five swings and misses on 63 pitches on the afternoon, registering an underwhelming CSW of 22 percent. He’ll hope for better results as he carries a 5.44 ERA, 1.56 WHIP and a 61/40 K/BB ratio (86 innings) into Saturday’s matchup against the Blue Jays in Toronto.

With Royce Lewis set to return from the injured list on Tuesday, the Twins needed to free a spot on their active roster and Bride became the unfortunate casualty. The 29-year-old has slashed a ghastly .170/.248/.188 with zero homers, five RBI and a 39/11 K/BB ratio in 125 plate appearances between the Twins and Marlins this season.

Yelich tagged Germán Márquez for a 363-foot (102.6 mph EV) solo shot in the home half of the sixth inning that extended the Brewers’ lead to 2-0. That would be his only hit in five at-bats on the day. For the season, the 33-year-old outfielder is slashing .262/.337/.457 with 16 homers, 60 RBI and 12 stolen bases through his first 337 plate appearances.

Ozuna, who hadn’t struck out more than twice in a game this season previously, fanned three times against Ranger Suárez and once versus Orion Kerkering. He’s hitting .175 with just one homer in his last 25 games, which makes it worth wondering if his hip injury is affecting him. He’s still doing fine from an exit velocity and xwOBA standpoint, though.
