Stott managed to finish the contest, but will undergo further evaluation and testing to determine the severity of the issue. It sounds like he could wind up getting a couple days off this week as a result of the issue. There should be some clarity on his status ahead of Tuesday’s game.

Veen resumed playing in games Friday, going 2-for-7 with four walks in three Rookie ball appearances. The 23-year-old got off to a fast start at Albuquerque was called up by the Rockies less than two weeks into the season. However, he was sent back down after a 4-for-34 start, and he mostly struggled back in Triple-A, hitting .170/.254/.226 in 14 games in May. If he produces, he’ll likely earn a longer look in the majors in the second half.

The 21-year-old went hitless for the remainder of the contest, and he’s hitting just .095 since being promoted from Triple-A Worcester. Still, this was a reminder that Anthony possesses immense talent, and it seems likely that more balls are going to find their way over the fence in the coming weeks.
