Edman missed three consecutive games with the hairline fracture in his right pinkie toe, but he’s feeling well enough to get the nod for Wednesday’s bout with the Brewers. Don’t be surprised if Edman gets some more maintenance days during the summer months.

Kopech is moved to the 60-day list to make room for Tyler Glasnow (shoulder), who is coming off that list to start Wednesday against the Brewers. Kopech now won’t be eligible to return until the end of August.

Glasnow will make his first start since the end of April. The right-hander was able to fire 78 pitches in his last rehab start, so it’s reasonable to think he can work five-plus innings in this return. Glasnow’s injury troubles are always, well, troubling; but when he’s on the mound, there aren’t many better.

Vivas has been summoned to join New York’s active roster in a bench role with DJ LeMahieu being jettisoned a couple days after losing his starting job at second base. The 24-year-old infielder got into 22 games earlier this season in the big leagues, batting .156 (7-for-45) with one homer and four RBI during that span. He’s unlikely to garner enough playing time to make an impact for fantasy purposes.

The move doesn’t come as a total surprise since LeMahieu didn’t exactly have a role for New York after the club finally made the decision earlier this week to bench him in favor of Jazz Chisholm Jr. at second base. They’ll eat the roughly $22 million left on his original six-year contract that runs through the 2026 campaign. The 36-year-old doesn’t offer much defensive versatility at this advanced stage of his career and was hitting just .266/.338/.336 with two homers and 12 RBI across 142 plate appearances this season. It’ll be rookie Jorbit Vivas coming up to take his spot on the Yankees bench.

Donovan drew a walk in the first inning, then put the Cardinals on the board with a two-run homer in the third. Four of his seven homers have come over the last two weeks. The versatile 28-year-old is hitting .296/.368/.438 with 48 runs scored and 34 RBI across 365 plate appearances.
