Sam Darnold
MIN • QB • #14
The Athletic’s Dianna Russini reports the Vikings traded the 42nd and 188th picks in the 2024 draft and a second rounder in 2025 to the Texans in exchange for the 23rd and 232nd pick in 2024.
Minnesota also holds the 11th pick in the upcoming draft. The Vikings, according to Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio, “are apparently gathering ammunition to move up from No. 11 to get a QB” after losing Kirk Cousins to the Falcons in free agency. The team this week signed journeyman Sam Darnold as what will likely be a bridge quarterback option. Look for the Vikings to package the 11th and 23rd picks to jump further up to the draft board if they are in fact intent on securing a franchise signal caller.
