Julien opened the sixth inning with an opposite-field 361-foot (98.1 mph EV) solo shot off of Casey Mize that increased the Twins’ advantage to 3-1. That would be his only hit in four at-bats on the afternoon. The 25-year-old is off to a solid start overall at the plate, slashing .282/.333/.436 with one homer and four RBI through his first 39 at-bats.

Torkelson finally got the Tigers on the board with a 396-foot (110.5 mph EV) solo shot off of Simeon Woods Richardson to start the fourth inning. That would be their lone tally in the ballgame though. Torkelson finished the afternoon 1-for-4 with a pair of strikeouts. He’s off to an outstanding start to the 2025 season, slashing a robust .309/.409/.673 with the aforementioned five long balls and 11 RBI.

The 27-year-old right-hander struck out three on the afternoon and didn’t walk a batter. He struggled to keep the ball in the yard on Sunday as Byron Buxton and Edouard Julien each smacked solo homers off of him in the ballgame. Mize generated eight swings and misses on 74 pitches on the afternoon — half of those on his splitter — while registering a CSW of 27 percent. He’ll look to get back on track as he carries a 2.60 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and a 15/6 K/BB ratio (17 1/3 innings) into Friday’s divisional showdown against the Royals.

Lively was able to pitch out of trouble in the first few innings, but he gave up a homer to Sal Perez in the fourth and a two-run double to Maikel Garcia in the fifth that led to Kansas City’s runs. Lively did post a solid 25 percent whiff rate and 29 percent CSW thanks, mostly, to his sinker. He remains on the deep-league streaming radar next week against the Pirates.

Friedl scored the first run of the game on an RBI single by Santiago Espinal and then later knocked in another run on a groundout. The 29-year-old is the everyday lead-off hitter for the Reds and has enough speed to be an interesting outfield option in deeper formats.

There wasn’t much that went right for the Pirates on Sunday, but Cruz made his return to the lineup after three games on the bench with a finger injury and was right back to running. The 26-year-old has eight steals on the season, which has been a nice surprise for fantasy managers.

The right-hander also walked two and struck out four while posting a 30 percent whiff rate and 34 percent CSW. His sweeper and slider combination helped him to miss bats, and he did get 17 called strikes on the day, but he also gave up some hard contact and will now bring a 6.23 ERA into a start next week against Cleveland. You have to wonder when Bubba Chandler gets a chance.

Greene is on an absolute heater to start the 2025 season. His four-seam continues to drive his success, registering 10 whiffs on 31 swings while pounding the zone at a 72 percent clip. Greene also got six whiffs on his slider, as much of his success has just been throwing his two best pitches in the zone repeatedly and daring hitters to do damage. They simply can’t right now. The right-hander will carry a 0.98 ERA into a start at Baltimore next week. You’re never taking him out of your lineup right now.

No real shock after Suzuki left Saturday’s eventual blowout win at Dodger Stadium early with right wrist discomfort. The ongoing issue has been bothering him for the past few days, and he re-aggravated it during Saturday’s contest, according to Cubs manager Craig Counsell. Fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day for now. It’ll be Justin Turner filling in at DH during Sunday’s nightcap.

Springer appeared to suffer the injury on an awkward fifth-inning swing before leaving the contest. He finished 0-for-3 with a strikeout prior to departing. The 35-year-old outfielder will head for further evaluation and testing to determine the severity of the issue. It’s a tough break since Springer was off to a torrid start at the dish, hitting .375 (18-for-48) with two homers, 10 RBI and two steals through 16 games.

It’s doesn’t come as a total surprise to see the Dodgers giving Freeman a break after playing two straight games at first base in his return from the injured list. He’s gone 1-for-6 with three strikeouts during that span. It’s not uncommon for a player that skips a minor league rehab assignment to need a couple games to get their timing back at the dish. It’ll be Enrique Hernández handling the cold corner on Sunday night at Dodger Stadium.

Hendriks struck out one, issued one walk and needed just 18 pitches (10 strikes) to navigate a scoreless frame in his latest rehab outing. He could be ready to make his long-awaited Boston debut at some point next week. The 36-year-old righty averaged 94.1 mph on his fastball, which is an encouraging development. He’ll bolster Boston’s high-leverage mix, but it might be unrealistic to expect him to step into closing situations right away, despite his resume.

It appears to be a routine off day for Semien, who has started 15 consecutive games to open the regular season, and is hitting .123 with one homer and zero steals so far. It’ll be Joc Pederson, who is batting .077 (3-for-39) moving up to the leadoff spot. There’s no logical explanation here besides the Rangers trying something different in an effort to get Pederson going.

Doyle will miss his third straight contest on Sunday afternoon as he continues to deal with ongoing left quad soreness. It’ll be Ezequiel Tovar in the leadoff spot and Mickey Moniak patrolling center field. He should still be considered day-to-day for now. The 26-year-old fantasy stalwart doesn’t appear in jeopardy of landing on the injured list yet, but it’s a situation fantasy managers should monitor closely in the coming days.

Amador provides the injury-depleted Rockies with some extra infield depth ahead of Sunday’s series finale against the Padres. The 22-year-old got into 10 games last year for Colorado and offers some power/speed combo intrigue for fantasy managers in deeper mixed leagues. He possesses robust contact skills, which should translate well to hitter-friendly Coors Field, a place that often boosts batting averages more than anything else. If he’s able to carve out an everyday role, Amador’s combination of fantasy-relevant skills will make him an impact contributor.

Williamson gets the call to the big leagues for the first time in his career after spending the last couple seasons in Seattle’s system. The 24-year-old infielder was a second-round selection in the 2023 MLB Draft and was off to a nice start for Triple-A Tacoma, hitting .281 (16-for-57) with eight RBI and two steals in 14 games. Wilson was bumped up to the leadoff spot on Saturday with Lawrence Butler getting a rare day off and extended his season-opening hitting streak to 15 consecutive games. The 23-year-old top prospect has been a revelation this season, but simply lacks the elite power/speed combo ceiling to overtake Butler for the leadoff role. It’s possible he’ll challenge him in the future. However, it’s not really much of a debate at this early stage of his career, especially considering how teams are now approaching the spot and prioritizing getting their most impactful hitters as many at-bats as possible.

We knew Schmidt would make his next start in the majors, but it’s now been officially confirmed that he’ll take the ball for Wednesday’s series finale against Kansas City at Yankee Stadium. Fulmer hasn’t pitched in the big leagues since the 2023 campaign, but he’s getting the call to augment Boston’s injury-depleted mix ahead of Sunday’s series finale in Chicago.
