Mets transferred LHP Brooks Raley to the 60-day injured list.

Raley returned to the Mets earlier this week on a one-year contract with a club option for 2026. He’s likely to rejoin New York’s bullpen at some point in the second half. The procedural move opens up a 40-man roster spot for now.

    Injury

Chase Dollander was removed from Wednesday’s start against the Braves with a cracked fingernail.

Rockies manager Bud Black told reporters Dollander left the contest with two outs in the sixth inning after a fingernail on his right hand split and was bleeding. The 23-year-old top prospect departed after limiting Atlanta’s formidable lineup to just one run on two hits at Coors Field. He struck out four and also issued three walks. It doesn’t appear to be a serious issue, but it certainly puts him in jeopardy of missing his next start on Tuesday against the Tigers. There should be an update on his status in the coming days.

    Recap

Brenton Doyle finished 2-for-4 with a homer as the Rockies edged the Braves 2-1 on Wednesday.

Doyle has, totally understandably, struggled offensively since coming off the Bereavement List last week, but he had a really nice game against Chris Sale and Pierce Johnson today as the Rockies won for the first time in 10 days and second time in 20 days. Doyle hit flyballs 421, 402 and 395 feet, resulting in a homer, a double and an out.

    Recap

Zach Agnos worked a scoreless ninth for his first career save Wednesday against the Braves.

Seth Halvorsen, who has looked like the favorite for saves in the Colorado pen of late, struck out two in a perfect eighth to earn his first hold. Agnos then retired three out of four batters in the ninth. Between Halvorsen, Agnos, Angel Chivilli and Victor Vodnik, the Rockies have the makings of a potentially excellent pen come 2026 or ’27. Still, there isn’t much reason to try to chase saves here now; the Rockies have totaled four from four different relievers this season.

    Recap

Starting at Coors Field for the first time in his career, Chris Sale pitched seven innings of two-run ball and struck out 10 in a loss to the Rockies on Wednesday.

That’d be good enough for a win most days, but not with the Braves being limited to one run today. Sale dropped to 1-3 with a 5.84 ERA. The 10-strikeout game was his first in 2025 and 88th of his career. He’s slated to face the Reds next time out.

    Ryan McMahon

    Recap

Ryan McMahon struck out all three times up Wednesday against the Braves.

They probably won’t do it, but it seems like time for the Rockies to bench McMahon for a few days. He’s batting just .147, and he tops the majors with his 43 strikeouts. The Rockies, though, keep batting him third every day.

    Injury

Jared Jones (elbow) has been cleared to start a throwing program

Jones has officially resumed throwing after being shut down back in mid-March with a UCL sprain in his right elbow. Fantasy managers shouldn’t expect him back in Pittsburgh’s rotation until sometime in June, barring any setbacks, but it’s an extremely encouraging development. The dynamic 23-year-old righty is one of the most promising young pitchers in the game and should be stashed in all fantasy formats.

Astros optioned RHP AJ Blubaugh to Triple-A Sugar Land.

It’s a one-and-done for Blubaugh, who was charged with seven runs — two earned — over four innings on Wednesday in his big-league debut against the Tigers. He struck out six and only issued one walk. There simply isn’t a spot for him in Houston with Lance McCullers Jr. (elbow) set to make his long-awaited return from the injured list.

    Mike Trout

    Injury

Mike Trout made an early exit from Wednesday’s game against the Mariners with a potential injury.

Trout was replaced by Jo Adell in right field a couple frames after hustling down the line on a second-inning ground out. He didn’t appear to be in obvious discomfort, but it’s possible he suffered some sort of injury on the play. The 33-year-old generational talent has been snake-bitten by injuries the last few years, but has played all 29 games this season. Hopefully he’s not dealing with anything knee-related, which would be extremely concerning. There should be an update on his status shortly.

Rangers selected the contract of C Tucker Barnhart from Triple-A Round Rock.

Barnhart returns to the majors as emergency catching depth for the Rangers with backup Kyle Higashioka dealing with a hamstring issue. The 34-year-old journeyman can be ignored in all fantasy formats.

    Dane Dunning

Rangers designated RHP Dane Dunning for assignment.

Dunning winds up losing his spot on Texas’ active roster due to a roster crunch created by an injury to backup catcher Kyle Higashioka. The 30-year-old righty figures to pass through waivers unclaimed, but there’s a chance another team out there is willing to roll the dice.

Kyle Higashioka is dealing with hamstring tightness.

MLB.com’s Kennedi Landry reports Higashioka may require a trip to the injured list, but that hasn’t happened yet. The Rangers are bringing veteran Tucker Barnhart up from the minors as emergency catching depth behind starter Jonah Heim.

Athletics selected the contract of RHP Carlos Duran from Triple-A Las Vegas.

Duran came over from the Dodgers earlier this month in the Esteury Ruiz trade and will be making his big-league debut when he gets into a game. The hard-throwing 23-year-old righty is capable of touching triple digits, but holds a lackluster 6.75 ERA across seven appearances this season at the Triple-A level.

    Jacob Lopez

Athletics optioned LHP Jacob Lopez to Triple-A Las Vegas.

Lopez retreats to the minors after throwing 84 pitches over 2 2/3 innings on Tuesday in a spot start against the division-rival Rangers. The 27-year-old southpaw figures to rejoin the Athletics’ pitching mix in a couple weeks.

Athletics transferred RHP José Leclerc to the 60-day injured list.

Leclerc won’t be eligible to rejoin the Athletics’ relief mix until late June. The 31-year-old righty hit the shelf back on April 23 with a lat strain. The procedural move frees up a spot on the Athletics’ 40-man roster.

    Chase Petty

    CIN •

    Transaction

Reds selected the contract of RHP Chase Petty from Triple-A Louisville.

Petty will make his major-league debut in the second game of Wednesday’s doubleheader against the Cardinals. The 22-year-old former first-round pick throws hard and has recorded an impressive 3.52 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 27/9 K/BB ratio across 23 innings (five starts) this season for Triple-A Louisville. He’s worth monitoring in deeper mixed leagues based on his talent and strikeout potential, but he’s an extremely risky streaming option for fantasy managers right out of the gate.

    Gordon Graceffo

    Transaction

Gordon Graceffo will serve as the 27th man for Wednesday’s doubleheader against the Reds.

Graceffo provides the Cardinals with some extra depth behind lefty Steven Matz for the second game of Wednesday’s twin bill at Great American Ball Park. The 25-year-old righty will head back to Triple-A Memphis at the conclusion of the nightcap affair.

The Orioles have moved Charlie Morton to the bullpen.

It remains to be seen how long the decision lasts, but the Orioles can probably get by with a four-man rotation for the next week or two due to off days. Morton has been shifted to the bullpen after tossing 2 1/3 frames on Tuesday against the Yankees. It’ll be Dean Kremer, Tomoyuki Sugano and Kyle Gibson taking the ball for a three-game series against the Royals that gets underway on Friday.

    Injury

Brandon Marsh (hamstring) will play on Thursday in a minor league rehab game for Triple-A Lehigh Valley.

Marsh left a rehab contest over the weekend with a right hamstring cramp, so it’s an encouraging sign that he’s feeling well enough to get back into game action. The 27-year-old outfielder figures to be ready to rejoin the Phillies’ lineup as early as this weekend.

    Injury

Erik Swanson (elbow) has been shut down from throwing after experiencing forearm soreness.

Swanson experienced some forearm soreness prior to Tuesday’s minor league rehab outing for Low-A Dunedin. The Blue Jays aren’t going to take any chances here so he’s flying back to Toronto to be re-evaluated.

Cubs selected the contract of RHP Chris Flexen from Triple-A Iowa.

The move is now official. Flexen has been summoned to join Chicago’s relief mix ahead of Wednesday’s showdown against the division-rival Pirates. The 30-year-old journeyman has an extensive track record of mediocre results at the highest level, but he’s recorded a strong 1.16 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 21/8 K/BB ratio across 23 1/3 innings (five starts) this season in the hitter-friendly Pacific Coast League. He’s a name to watch in deeper mixed leagues over the next few weeks.

Cubs optioned LHP Tom Cosgrove to Triple-A Iowa.

Cosgrove heads back to the minors after sipping a quick cup of coffee with the Cubs. The 28-year-old lefty tossed a pair of scoreless frames in his lone appearance with the club after being called up last weekend.

Cubs transferred RHP Javier Assad to the 60-day injured list.

Assad is facing a lengthy absence after suffering a Grade 2 oblique strain during his most recent rehab outing for Triple-A Iowa. The procedural move frees up a spot on Chicago’s 40-man roster.

    Austin Hays

    CIN • DH

    Injury

Austin Hays (hamstring) remains out of the lineup for the second game of Wednesday’s doubleheader against the Cardinals.

Hays will sit out both games of Wednesday’s twin bull due to a hamstring issue. The 29-year-old outfielder is scheduled to undergo an MRI to determine the severity of the issue. There should be some much-needed clarity on his status at some point in the near future. It’ll be Gavin Lux heading out to left field for Wednesday’s nightcap in his absence.

    Injury

Jazz Chisholm Jr. (oblique) is not in the lineup for Wednesday’s series finale against the Orioles.

No surprise here after Chisholm was lifted from Tuesday’s contest with right flank discomfort. The electrifying 27-year-old downplayed concern after the contest, but Yankees manager Aaron Boone wasn’t willing to rule out a potential trip to the injured list. He’s slated to undergo further testing, including an MRI, on his right oblique prior to Friday’s series opener against the Rays. There should be an update on his status at some point in the coming days. Fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day for now. It’ll be journeyman Pablo Reyes filling in at the keystone on Wednesday night in his absence.

Paul Goldschmidt is leading off on Wednesday against the Orioles.

Goldschmidt gets an opportunity in the leadoff spot on Wednesday night with young lefty Cade Povich toeing the rubber for Baltimore. It’ll be red-hot Trent Grisham batting second followed by franchise cornerstone Aaron Judge and emerging slugger Ben Rice in the heart of the order.
