Verdugo already has two four-hit games for the Braves, though he’s 4-for-28 in his other six contests. He isn’t the worst option in mixed leagues for teams looking more for batting average than homers or steals. However, his limitations in those categories hold him back from sporting real value.

Glasnow was pulled from Sunday’s start after one inning due to discomfort in his shoulder. The right-hander told reporters afterwards that the shoulder has been and on-and-off thing for him as he attempts to adapt his delivery to prevent the elbow issues that have plagued him in the past. It’s much more important for the Dodgers to get him right for the postseason than it is to win some meaningless games in May, so don’t be surprised to see them take a cautious approach here.

Judge delivered the biggest blow in the ballgame as he crushed the first pitch Chris Bassitt threw in the sixth inning for a 376-foot (104.2 mph EV) opposite-field go-ahead solo homer. That would prove to be the difference in the ballgame. The 33-year-old superstar finished the day 1-for-4. He’s slashing an absolutely absurd .406/.500/.717 with eight homers, 27 RBI and three stolen bases through his first 28 games.

Grisham opened the scoring in the ballgame with a 401-foot (107.7 mph EV) leadoff blast off of Chris Bassitt to start the home half of the first inning. He also walked twice in the ballgame, reaching base safely in three of his four plate appearances. On the season, he’s slashing a robust .298/.385/.684 with seven long balls and 14 RBI. He’s worthy of a look in deeper mixed leagues for as long as he sees consistent playing time with the Bombers.

The 30-year-old rookie backstop victimized right-hander Chad Green for his 415-foot (105.0 mph EV) solo shot, extending the Yankees’ lead to 5-1 and costing teammate Luke Weaver a shot at a save. Escarra also delivered a run-scoring single in the sixth inning, finishing the night 2-for-4 with two RBI. On the season, he’s now slashing .200/.310/.400 with one homer and three RBI in his limited action.

The 29-year-old hurler racked up six strikeouts on the night but also issued four walks which led to an elevated pitch count and cost him a shot at a victory in this one. The lone tally against him came on a solo blast off the bat of Anthony Santander in the third inning. Schmidt generated 14 swings and misses on 90 pitches in the ballgame — seven of those on his knuckle curve — while registering a strong CSW of 34 percent. Still in search of his first victory on the season, Schmidt will carry a 5.52 ERA, 1.43 WHIP and a 15/9 K/BB ratio (14 2/3 innings) into Saturday’s matchup against the Rays.

The 30-year-old outfielder tagged Yankees’ starter Clarke Schmidt for a 401-foot (104.8 mph EV) solo shot in the third inning that tied the game at 1-1. That would be it for the Jays’ offense. Santander finished the evening 1-for-3 plus a walk. He has really struggled through the first month of the season, slashing an anemic .179/.261/.302 with three homers and only nine RBI.

Bassitt stuck out five batters on the evening while issuing one base on balls. He had been locked in a tight 1-1 pitcher’s duel with Clarke Schmidt until the sixth inning where the wheels fell off for him. There, he surrendered a leadoff solo homer to Aaron Judge and allowed a two-out RBI double to Jasson Dominguez before turning the ball over to the bullpen. The pen allowed Dominguez to score as well, creating the final line. Bassitt got six whiffs on 92 pitches on the day, posting a CSW of just 23 percent. After losing two straight starts, Bassitt still sports a terrific 2.62 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and a 39/7 K/BB ratio over 34 1/3 innings through his first six outings. He’ll look to right the ship when he takes on the Guardians at home on Saturday.

Back from a blister that put him on the IL, Leiter seemed more like the guy he was last year than the one who was so impressive in two starts to begin the season. Besides the four walks, he also got just four misses on 31 swings, and five of the nine balls in play against him were hit hard. Still, those who held on to him during his IL stint should at least see how he performs next against the Mariners before considering dropping him.

That single was a Heliot Ramos roller that Jackson barehanded and then threw into right field. Ramos took second, hesitated for some odd reason and then finally ran to third in what turned out to be a genius play, since the Rangers botched that throw, too, allowing Ramos to score. So, Jackson’s pitching wasn’t really a problem today, or at least wasn’t given the chance to become one. He fell to 0-3, but since the run was unearned, his ERA is unchanged.

What a series for Pages; he had three hits in all three games, finishing 10-for-12 with three doubles to go along with the homer. He also homered against the Cubs both Tuesday and Wednesday. His OPS has climbed from .544 all of the way to .861 over the last week, and he might as well be tried in mixed leagues until he cools off.

Casparius was credited with the win, making him 3-0 with a 2.91 ERA in 21 1/3 innings. He was expected to start Wednesday’s game, though if that happens now, it’d probably be a shorter outing, given that he’d be on two days’ rest after throwing 54 pitches. If he winds up getting a real look as a starter in Glasnow’s place, he’d be intriguing.

Hernández was removed for a pinch-hitter afterwards, but that was probably due to the 9-2 score. The homer was his third in four games and eighth of 2025. Next up for him is his 200th career double; he entered the day with 199 of those, too.

There’s a good chance the Pirates cost themselves a game or two by not simply shutting down Bryan Reynolds when he was hurting earlier this season and instead benching McCutchen and using an injured player at DH. That’s in the past now; Reynolds is healthy and back in right field, allowing McCutchen to resume his DH duties. One of McCutchen’s singles today left the bat at 110.2 mph, his hardest-hit ball since 2022. He’s hitting .276/.368/.447 in 87 plate appearances.

The 28-year-old slugger did his damage during the first inning of this one, crushing a Max Meyer first-pitch fastball for a 368-foot (101.2 mph EV) solo shot. The Big Dumper now leads the league with his 10 long balls and it’s the first time in his career that he has hit 10 or more homers in a single month. The 31-year-old infielder did his damage in the second inning of this one, smacking a two-out, RBI double off of Max Meyer that increased the Mariners’ early lead to 4-1. He then tacked on a two-out RBI single in the fourth inning that made it a 5-1 ballgame. Polanco was also hit by a pitch in the contest, reaching base safely in three of his four plate appearances. The Mariners’ lead had been much more comfortable until Connor Norby crushed a three-run homer in the eighth inning to make it a one-run game. Muñoz made it look easy though, getting Xavier Edwards on a called third strike before getting Jesus Sanchez and Agustín Ramírez each to ground out to second base to end it. Muñoz has now converted each of his first 10 save chances on the season and he has yet to allow a run through his first 14 innings on the season.

The 23-year-old right-hander walked three and struck out three in the ballgame. He served up a long solo homer to Agustín Ramírez in the opening inning, then kept the Marlins at bay until they scratched out a run in his final inning of work. Evans got four swings and misses on 78 pitches on the day, posting an underwhelming CSW of only 17 percent. It sounds like he’ll get an opportunity to continue to work out of Logan Gilbert’s spot in the rotation, which means he’ll get the ball again on Sunday against the Rangers in Arlington.

The 23-year-old phenom opened the scoring in the ballgame with a 404-foot (105.1 mph EV) solo shot off of Logan Evans in the top half of the first inning. He then tagged Collin Snider for a 421-foot (108.7 mph EV) blast in the sixth inning that pulled the Marlins to within four runs at 7-3. Fantasy managers who were hoping Ramírez would have a quiet debut so they could sneak him through for a reasonable bid on Sunday night are completely out of luck as he has slashed a ridiculous .474/.524/1.158 with three homers, five RBI and a stolen base. Expect him to remain a force in the middle of the Marlins’ lineup.

Meyer got eight swings and misses on 86 pitches in the game, posting a CSW of 30 percent. The White Sox took a 2-1 lead in the top of the 10th, but it wasn’t enough. The homer was Urias’s fourth in just 46 plate appearances this season. Joshua Palacios homered to start the game, but that was the lone run the A’s surrendered through nine innings. Bido was effective despite striking out just one. He’s totaled three strikeouts over 16 innings in his last three starts, compared to 14 in 15 innings in his first three. That he’s been successful in two of these recent outings anyway was undoubtedly influenced by the competition — two starts against the White Sox will help anyone’s overall line. He has another rather easy matchup coming up against the Marlins, making him a decent streaming option.

Jung reportedly sustained the injury on a swing in which he shattered his bat, then he appeared to open the wound further while making a bare-handed play in the field. It doesn’t seem like the type of injury that should lead to an extended absence, but with Jung you can never be too sure. Expect the Rangers to provide an update on his status after the game.

Lodolo had a no-hitter going until Jordan Beck was credited with an infield single in the bottom of the sixth. Elly De La Cruz made the tough play initially, but his throw pulled Spencer Steer off the bag. The other hit in the seventh was a roller down the third base line that Noelvi Marte hoped would go foul but wound up hitting the bag. The Reds probably didn’t mind, though, as they weren’t going to want Lodolo throwing the 110+ pitches it likely would have taken to complete a no-hitter. He struck out nine and walked one on the day. Lodolo is 3-2 with a 2.25 ERA, and he should remain one of the NL’s top lefties for as long as his body holds up. He’ll face the Nationals next.

The Reds probably can’t release Candelario when he’s not even halfway through his three-year, $45 million contract, but he was bad last year and he’s been considerably worse while opening this season 9-for-80 with 29 strikeouts. He might lose even more playing time when Tyler Stephenson is activated, since Stephenson will likely DH at least once or twice per week.
