Anthony Seigler has no outfield experience, so the Brewers will be shorthanded there in dropping Cameron from the roster. Still, they obviously wanted some more offense, and they do have Blake Parker hopefully coming back before long. Cameron hit .195/.214/.293 with a 13/1 K/BB in 42 plate appearances.

Cameron’s homer off Andrew Abbott was projected at 437 feet. It was his first in 17 appearances for the Brewers this season. He’ll likely keep serving in a platoon role against lefties until Blake Perkins returns.

Cameron returns to the big leagues ahead of Saturday’s contest against the Cardinals with center fielder Garrett Mitchell landing on the injured list with an oblique strain. The 28-year-old former top prospect has torn the cover off the ball this season at Triple-A Nashville, hitting .370/.404/.870 with six homers and three steals through 11 games. His father, Mike, spent two seasons with the Brewers towards the conclusion of his 17-year career.
