Freeman’s homer was his first of the year, an opposite-field blast off Andrew Abbott to kick off the scoring in the first. His playing time has been sporadic this season, but he almost always bats in the 1-4 spot when he draws a start.

Freeman was removed from Monday’s game against the Dodgers due to illness, and the 26-year-old will get another day off in the series opener against San Diego. Jordan Beck and Mickey Moniak make up the corner outfielders for Tuesday’s game.

Freeman played the top of the first inning before being lifted from the contest. He’ll get some time off the rest and recover but should return to Colorado’s lineup in a couple days.

Freeman is hitting .300 in 10 games since coming off the injured list, though he’s still without an extra-base hit. In addition to his usual duties against lefties, he’s playing about half of the time versus righties. It isn’t enough to make him mixed-league relevant, but there is a scenario in which he becomes the Rockies’ primary leadoff man and proves useful in batting average and steals.

Freeman was back at DH for Wednesday afternoon’s matinee at Coors Field following a three-game absence due to lower back tightness. The 26-year-old corner outfielder has started just two of seven games since coming off the injured list back on April 1.

Freeman has been on the bench since being scratched from Sunday’s game with lower back tightness. The 26-year-old outfielder is presumably available, if needed, but the Rockies are trying to give him some extra time to put the issue to bed. It’ll be another turn in right field for Troy Johnston in this one.

No surprise here after Freeman was scratched from Sunday’s series finale against the Phillies with lower back tightness. The 26-year-old will get some extra time off to rest the issue with Troy Johnston patrolling right field.

Freeman had been scheduled to start in right field and bat second for the Rockies. He’s considered day-to-day. Jordan Beck, who had been scheduled to get the afternoon off, replaced him in the lineup and will bat seventh against Taijuan Walker and the Phillies.

Freeman was serving as a pinch-hitter in his first game after being activated from the IL this morning. Unfortunately for Freeman, Mickey Moniak, who, like Freeman, figures to primarily play right field and DH, is also due to come off the injured list before the end of the week. Freeman will play against lefties, but he might not see a lot of time against righties unless he can convince the Rockies to use him a second. It would seem to be worth a try for the club, since Freeman is probably the best OBP guy on the club.

It was expected that Freeman would start the season as a short-side platoon with either Jordan Beck or Mickey Moniak. Now, Moniak (finger) is also on the injured list, so there is a chance that Freeman could push Beck for playing time in the outfield or perhaps hit well enough to push Edouard Julien out of the DH spot.

Freeman was set to be a backup outfielder, which means that Troy Johnston will make the team as a backup at both outfield and first base.

Freeman made his spring debut Thursday as a right fielder after missing time with a back issue. He’ll be a lot more interesting for fantasy purposes if the Rockies give him a look at second base this spring. He projects as the Rockies’ best OBP guy, but if he’s just an outfielder and a DH, he’s probably not going to play much against righties initially.

Freeman had a solid .281/.354/.361 line over 110 games in his first season in Colorado, but his outfield defense was enough of a problem to turn him into more of a DH as the season went along. We’re not hearing that it’s the plan, but it’d make sense for the Rockies to give him a look back at second base this season. He’s probably the team’s best option in the leadoff spot, and he could offer some mixed-league value if he’s an everyday guy, though that’s in considerable doubt at the moment.

Freeman winds up missing the final week of the regular season with a lingering back issue. The 26-year-old center fielder should have a normal offseason and be a full-go for spring training.

It’s frankly a bit surprising the Rockies haven’t placed Freeman on the injured list since he hasn’t played in nearly one week at this juncture due to a back issue. It appears unlikely he’ll return at any point this weekend with Colorado further away from playoff contention than Blockbuster is from replacing Netflix.

It doesn’t appear that the Rockies are going to send Freeman to the injured list with two games left in the regular season, but he’s been out for nearly a week at this juncture due to a lingering back issue.

There’s little incentive for the last-place Rockies to rush Freeman back as he deals with a lower back ailment. The 26-year-old is presumably day-to-day heading into the final handful of regular-season games.

Freeman has been performing in a super utility role for the Rockies and has settled into the leadoff spot in their lineup. He’ll get a breather in this one though. Orlando Arcia will draw a start at second base and bat ninth for the Rockies against Cubs’ right-hander Cade Horton while Mickey Moniak slides up to the leadoff spot in the lineup.

Freeman came back to haunt his former club with a pair of clutch hits during his return to Progressive Field. The 26-year-old outfielder opened the scoring with a sacrifice fly in the third inning before adding a run-scoring singles in the fifth. He capped off the strong effort with a go-ahead hit against reliever Cade Smith in the top of the ninth inning to put the Rockies ahead for good.

Freeman is back at DH and leading off following a two-game absence due to illness. The 26-year-old outfielder shouldn’t require any additional time off. He’s been one of the few bright spots this season for the Rockies, who have endured an abysmal campaign overall.

Freeman is back atop Colorado’s lineup on Monday night at historic Fenway Park following a brief one-game absence due to right hamstring soreness. The 26-year-old outfielder told reporters over the weekend that he’s been dealing with the issue for a while at this juncture, so fantasy managers shouldn’t anticipate him missing a ton of additional time, if any, leading into the All-Star break.

There’s zero incentive for the Rockies to push things with just a handful of games left before the All-Star break. It’ll be rookie Yanquiel Fernández taking over in right field on Sunday in his place. Freeman has been one of the few bright spots of late in an otherwise dismal year for Colorado, emerging as a decent option for fantasy managers in deeper mixed leagues over the last few weeks, hitting .392 (38-for-97) with one homer and nine steals over his last 30 games. He’s presumably day-to-day heading into Monday’s series opener against the Red Sox at Fenway Park.

Because he plays for the worst team in baseball, Freeman hasn’t gotten enough attention for how good he’s been in his first year with the Rockies. The 26-year-old has his second three-hit game in the month of July, and is now slashing .338/.422/.456. He’s also added 12 stolen bases, so the only thing to complain about here is the lack of power. If he keeps hitting at a semblance of this average, it won’t matter as much.
