Roden was transferred to the 60-day injured list over the weekend after suffering a ligament sprain in his left thumb. There should be an official timetable from the club at some point soon, but we’re anticipating he’ll be ready for spring training.

Roden hits the shelf after suffering a thumb ligament sprain during Thursday’s loss to Detroit. The 25-year-old rookie is likely facing a multi-week absence, but there isn’t an official return timeline yet from the Twins. There should be some clarity on his status at some point in the coming days.

The 25-year-old outfielder aggravated his jammed left thumb when he slid (unsuccessfully) into home plate during the 10th inning of Thursday’s loss to the Tigers. He’s considered day-to-day.

Roden went 0-for-5 with a pair of strikeouts on Friday night in his Twins debut. The 25-year-old rookie corner outfielder has posted some impressive numbers at the Triple-A level, but they haven’t carried over into the big leagues this season. He figures to play virtually everyday for Minnesota after being acquired at the trade deadline from Toronto in the Louis Varland and Ty France trade.

Do the Twins hate right-handed outfielders? They acquired Roden and James Outman to join an outfield of Trevor Larnach, Matt Wallner, and DaShawn Keirsey Jr. Not one of them hits right-handed. That makes it hard to see exactly where Roden fits into the picture, but the 25-year-old was hitting .331/.423/.496 in 32 games at Triple-A with three home runs and four steals and is ready for MLB at-bats.

Roden returns to Toronto’s bench mix for the next few days while Will Wagner is away from the team to attend his father’s Hall of Fame induction. The 25-year-old outfielder has struggled in his first taste of the majors, batting .206 (20-for-97) with one homer and eight RBI through 42 games.

The 25-year-old outfielder was seeing limited action during this time with the Jays, so he’ll return to an everyday role at the Triple-A level instead of languishing on the bench. Will Wagner was recalled from Triple-A in a corresponding move on Saturday.

Roden will sit out his third straight contest on Saturday afternoon due to right knee inflammation. The 25-year-old outfielder has managed to avoid a trip to the injured list for now, but there’s a chance he winds up heading there at some point later this weekend.

Roden was scratched from Thursday’s game with knee inflammation and is considered day-to-day for now. His absence puts some additional strain on Toronto’s outfield depth with Myles Straw dealing with an ankle injury.

Schneider noted that Roden would have been available off of the Jays’ bench in an emergency situation on Thursday. It sounds like he should be ready to return to action on Friday, though his viability for fantasy purposes may be going away soon with Daulton Varsho nearing a return from the injured list.

Roden was set to start in left with Myles Straw (ankle) unavailable, but his own trouble will keep him out of Thursday’s lineup. Will Robertson will instead get the start and hit eighth against Ryne Nelson and the Diamondbacks’ bullpen.

Rangel returns to the minors after spending roughly 24 hours with the Phillies. The positive news is that he made his big-league debut on Friday night, allowing two runs over three innings in relief against the Pirates.

Rangel will get a chance to make his MLB debut if/when he gets into a game. It’s very likely that it’ll be as a multi-inning reliever in a low-leverage situation if it does take place.

Roden comes up to replace Anthony Santander with Santander hitting the injured list with left shoulder inflammation. Roden should see a decent amount of playing time in Toronto, and the 25-year-old is worth a dart throw in shallower fantasy formats for those who need outfield help.

The 25-year-old is now hitting .375 with a 1.092 OPS since being demoted to Triple-A at the beginning of May. With Anthony Santander battling hip and shoulder injuries, there may be an opportunity for Roden to get another shot with the Blue Jays over the summer.

Roden struggled to a .178 batting average over 28 games at the outset of the season before being demoted back on May 7. The 25-year-old has proven that he can control the strike zone and tear the cover off the ball at the Triple-A level, hitting .386/.460/.682 with three homers in 10 games since his demotion. There isn’t a path to everyday at-bats in Toronto at the moment, but he’s going to get another opportunity in the near future.

Roden reached base safely in five of his six plate appearances and came within a triple of hitting for the cycle in his second game back in the minors. The 25-year-old rookie was demoted earlier this week after hitting .178 with one homer through 28 games with the Blue Jays. He’s clearly talented enough from a hit tool standpoint to dominate in the upper minors, but it might take him some time to break through at the highest level.

There simply isn’t a consistent everyday role for Roden at the highest level with Daulton Varsho, George Springer and Anthony Santander all healthy with bench players like Nathan Lukes and Myles Straw still hanging around. The 25-year-old rookie will get a chance to play everyday at Triple-A Buffalo until he gets another extended opportunity at the highest level. He struggled to a lackluster .178/.262/.260 triple-slash line with one homer and five RBI in 28 games in his first taste of the majors.

The 25-year-old rookie outfielder has really scuffled out of the gate, slashing just .203/.284/.297 with one homer, five RBI and a 15/5 K/BB ratio through his first 74 plate appearances. With Daulton Varsho (shoulder) likely to return any day now, it’s possible that Roden could wind up being the odd man out in the Blue Jays’ outfield and be sent back to Triple-A Buffalo for more seasoning.

The day got even worse when Roden was knocked to the ground in a collision with Rowdy Tellez at first base. He was running out a soft roller down the first base line when the pitcher made a bad throw that resulted in the 270-pound Tellez getting turned around on the bag at first and left nowhere to go for Roden, who hit the ground hard and appeared dazed for a moment. Fortunately, he ended up playing the rest of the game.

Roden smacked a leadoff double in the third inning and scored the Jays’ first run on a fielder’s choice off the bat of Vladimir Guerrero Jr. in the third inning. He then gave the Jays their first lead of the ballgame with a go-ahead 397-foot (106.4 mph EV) two-run blast off of Spencer Schwellenbach in the fifth inning. The 25-year-old outfielder finished the night 2-for-3 and is now hitting .277/.340/.404 with one home run and four RBI on the season.
