    Recap

Brayan Rocchio hit a go-ahead solo homer in the eighth to help the Guardians to a 6-1 win over the Tigers on Wednesday in Game 2 of the Wild Card Series.

Rocchio came up huge again not long after his three-run homer against the Rangers on Sunday helped the Guardians clinch the division. This one might have been bigger, as it kept Cleveland’s season alive, although it’s worth noting that the Guardians scored four more runs in the eighth. Rocchio and Cleveland will play a winner-moves-on game Thursday against Detroit, with the victor earning a trip to play Seattle on Saturday.

    Recap

Brayan Rocchio clobbered a walk-off three-run homer in the 10th inning on Sunday afternoon, powering the Guardians to a 9-8 victory over the Rangers and securing the top spot in the American League Central.

The Guardians entered their half of the 10th inning trailing 8-5, but they inched closer as Bo Naylor smacked an RBI double. Rocchio then etched his name into Guardians’ lore with his 380-foot walk-off blast off of Jose Corniell. He also had a sacrifice fly in the eighth inning that tied the game at five runs apiece and put the Guardians in position to win it in the 10th. The 24-year-old infielder finishes the season slashing .233/.290/.340 with five homers and 44 RBI in 383 plate appearances.

    Recap

Brayan Rocchio hit a two-run homer in a win for the Guardians on Monday over the Diamondbacks.

Rocchio, 24, extended the Guardians’ lead to 3-0 with his two-run shot off Zac Gallen. The shortstop has been solid in August with a .312 average and .764 OPS, but is still slashing an unimpressive .237/.289/.348 during his 2025 campaign.

Brayan Rocchio is not in the Guardians’ starting lineup for Friday night’s battle against the Tigers.

It looks to be just a routine night off for the 24-year-old infielder. Daniel Schneemann will slide over and cover the shortstop position in his absence while Angel Martinez will draw a start at second base and bat ninth against Tigers’ right-hander Reese Olson.

Guardians recalled SS Brayan Rocchio from Triple-A Columbus.

Rocchio is replacing the injured Gabriel Arias, but he was about due another shot anyway after hitting .252/.353/.484 with seven homers and seven steals in 41 games for Columbus. He’ll likely be the Guardians’ primary shortstop, possibly for the rest of the season.

Brayan Rocchio went 2-for-5 and hit his third homer for Triple-A Columbus on Thursday.

Rocchio had four hard-hit balls in the contest, and he’s hitting .281/.361/.625 over his last eight games for Columbus. With Gabriel Arias struggling of late, the Guardians might be tempted to give Rocchio another try in the near future.

Brayan Rocchio, currently in an 0-for-17 slump, is on the bench for a second straight game Monday.

Rocchio is down to .183/.258/.220 for the year, and his defense hasn’t graded out particularly well, either. The Guardians are going with Gabriel Arias at short and Daniel Schneeman at second again today. Rocchio has to be in significant danger of getting sent to Triple-A.

Brayan Rocchio is not in the starting lineup Friday against the Red Sox.

Rocchio will take a seat for the first of the three-game set against Boston. The 24-year-old infielder will get a break with Gabriel Arias moving to shortstop and Daniel Schneemann getting the start at second base.

    Recap

Brayan Rocchio went 0-for-3 against the Yankees on Tuesday, leaving him with a .237/.319/.271 line this season.

Rocchio has hit a little better these last two weeks, but he might need to pick it up further, especially now that Will Wilson is up. He’s just yet to show much of a ceiling through 189 big-league games, with Fangraphs putting him at 0.9 WAR to date. The Guardians have alternatives at short if they wanted to send him down for a spell.
