Tellez entered the game as a pinch-hitter for Jake Burger after Adolis Garcia had singled to start the 10th inning. He then crushed a 2-2 curveball from Zak Kent for a 362-foot (94.2 mph EV) three-run blast that gave the Rangers an 8-5 advantage. The 30-year-old slugger finishes the 2025 season hitting .228/.276/.443 with 17 homers, 49 RBI and one stolen base in 312 plate appearances between the Mariners and Rangers.

Tellez’ home run is his 16th of the season. He hit a pinch-hit two-run game-tying home run in the 10th inning. Tellez’ home run was his first since August 24 against the Guardians, breaking a span of 17 games without a home run. He’s hitting .231 with a .721 OPS and 44 RBI this year.

Tellez’ home run was his 15th this year. The 30-year-old first baseman started the scoring with a two-run shot off Gavin Williams in the fourth inning. Tellez is hitting just .227, but has a .459 slugging percentage in 87 games this year. He’ll continue to see at-bats against right-handed pitching while Jake Burger is out with a wrist injury.

Tellez’ home run was his 14th of the year. He hit a solo shot off Slade Cecconi in the fourth inning. Tellez is hitting .225 with a .715 OPS and 38 RBI on the season. He figures to continue to see at-bats against right-handed pitching at first base while Jake Burger (wrist) is on the injured list.

The Rangers were facing a 6-1 deficit heading to the sixth inning, but they kept fighting and scratched out four runs in the sixth to make it a 6-5 ballgame. That’s how it stayed until the ninth where Tellez clobbered a 413-foot leadoff homer off of Andrew Hoffmann that tied the game. That was his only hit in four at-bats on the night, but played a critical role in the comeback victory. For the season, the 30-year-old slugger is now hitting .224/.262/.452 with 13 homers and 35 RBI on the season.

The Rangers finally snapped a scoreless tie in the eighth inning as they loaded the bases with one out on a double and a pair of walks. Tellez then battled Devin Williams to a full count before blooping a two-run single into center that proved to be the difference. The 30-year-old slugger finished the night 1-for-4 and is now hitting .222/.261/.443 with 12 homers, 34 RBI and one stolen base on the season.

Tellez, making his second start at first base for the Rangers, put Texas on top in this one with a three-run blast off Keider Montero in the second inning. He also drew a walk in the contest. It was the 12th home run of the season for the 30-year-old slugger. He should continue to get run at first base for the Rangers, at least against right-handed pitching, while Jake Burger (quad) remains sidelined.

Tellez was officially called up prior to Friday’s second-half opener against the Tigers with Jake Burger (quad) hitting the injured list during the All-Star break. The 30-year-old slugging first baseman figures to be a temporary stopgap for the Rangers at the cold corner and can be safely ignored in most fantasy leagues.

With Jake Burger (wuad) landing on the injured list, the Rangers will turn to Rowdy Tellez to take his place on the active roster. The 30-year-old hit .208/.249/.434 with 11 homers in 185 plate appearances with the Mariners earlier this year before being released, but that also came with a 15.9 percent barrel rate. He hit well in four games at Triple-A for the Rangers, so the team will likely give him a shot to play regularly against right-handed pitching for now.

The 30-year-old slugger hit the open market at the end of June when he was released by the Mariners. Tellez hit just .208/.249/.434 with 11 homers in 185 plate appearances for the M’s. He’ll add depth for the Rangers, but his days of fantasy relevancy appear to be in the rearview mirror.

The Mariners could have just sent Dominic Canzone down to make room for the returning Luke Raley, but they’ve chosen instead to move on from Tellez, who was hitting .208/.249/.434 with 11 homers in 185 plate appearances. In truth, it seems like the right call to us. Tellez has just an 88 OPS+ since the start of 2023, and while Canzone isn’t very good in right, the defense is probably still better with him in the outfield and Raley at first than with Raley in right and Tellez at first.

Tellez got the Mariners on the board with a solo homer off Gavin Williams in the fourth inning. It’s the 11th roundtripper of the season for the veteran first baseman, and his double was just his fifth. Tellez certainly has the raw power to hit the ball over the fence, but it’s hard to trust him as a one-tool player playing in a home park that suppresses that tool.

Tellez had singled to lead off the second inning, then later took Brandon Pfaadt deep for a solo homer in the sixth, going back-to-back with Randy Arozarena to knock Pfaadt from the game. The 30-year-old slugger is hitting .208/.253/.429 with ten homers and 26 RBI across 166 plate appearances.

Tellez plated the only run for the Mariners on Tuesday, taking Tomoyuki Sugano deep for a solo homer in the second inning. It was the ninth home run of the season for the 30-year-old slugger. He’s slashing .207/.260/.437 with 24 RBI across 146 plate appearances.

Tellez brought the Mariners to within one run in the sixth, and Seattle later went ahead of Dylan Moore’s double in the eighth. The homer was Tellez’s fifth of the year. Even though he’s batting just .208, he has 18 RBI in 84 plate appearances.

Tellez came off the bench to lash a single up the middle to score Jorge Polanco — with Polanco also doubling off the bench in the inning — and giving the Mariners a 2-1 lead and ultimately a victory. Tellez still has an ugly .206/.271/.429 slash, but he’s been considerably better than that since the middle of April.

Tellez was in Seattle’s original lineup after X-rays came back negative on his left hand after being hit by a pitch on Saturday night. He’ll get some extra time off to rest and recover. It’ll be Donovan Solano taking over at first base during Sunday’s contest.

The positive news here is that X-rays came back negative for any fractures after Tellez was hit by a pitch during Saturday’s showdown against the Marlins. There’s a strong possibility he takes a seat for Sunday’s series finale to allow the pain and swelling to subside.

The Mariners scored the go-ahead run on Randy Arozarena’s single in the 12th, making it a 4-3 game, but they still needed some insurance. Tellez stepped to the plate with two outs and delivered a 430-foot blast off Jacob Barnes for his third homer of the year. He hasn’t been very helpful overall while batting .140/.191/.372, and there’s a good chance that the Mariners will need to move on from him at some point. This was a big one, though.

Tellez jumped on a first-pitch fastball from Blue Jays’ right-hander Bowden Francis for a 373-foot (113.1 mph EV) solo shot in the second inning. That would be the Mariners’ lone tally in the ballgame. The 30-year-old slugger also worked a walk in the ballgame, finishing the night 1-for-1 officially. On the season, he’s slashing a woeful .135/.195/.324 with a pair of homers and five RBI.
