The objective of the procedure is to address discomfort in the trochlear compartment of Aldama’s right knee. While the Grizzlies won’t provide a timeline until after the procedure, he’s effectively done for the season in fantasy basketball. Olivier-Maxence Prosper, GG Jackson (when healthy) and Taylor Hendricks are the players whose opportunities have increased due to the Grizzlies’ frontcourt injuries. Aldama is under contract next season with a projected cap hit of $17 million and figures to have a bigger role than he did last season if the Grizzlies don’t add a new big man in free agency or via trade.

If there’s a positive to Jerome appearing on the injury report, it’s that he is on it for a shoulder injury, not his calf, which delayed the guard’s start to the season. His likely absence means the Grizzlies will rely on Javon Small and Cam Spencer to run the show. At this point, both players should be rostered in 14-team leagues.

Traoré sat out Thursday’s loss to the Hawks due to rest, but returned to the starting lineup Saturday. The 19-year-old guard had just six points in 17 minutes as well as three assists and five turnovers. Traoré was 2-of-10 from the field with his only made baskets coming on three-pointers. Minott was coming off an excellent game in Thursday’s loss to the Hawks, when he had 24 points, four three-pointers, three steals and three blocks. The 23-year-old small forward wasn’t able to re-create that magic Saturday against the 76ers as he had 14 points on 12 field goal attempts, three three-pointers and one block. Spencer was back in the lineup after not playing on Thursday, playing 30 minutes as part of the Grizzlies’ starting backcourt. With Scotty Pippen Jr. (toe) done for the season, Spencer has a higher fantasy ceiling moving forward, whether he starts or comes off the bench. Jerome returned to the Grizzlies’ lineup after sitting out Thursday’s loss to the Mavericks, and he was productive in his time on the floor. Unfortunately for fantasy managers, he was once again limited to 25 minutes, so his fantasy ceiling may be capped as long as that remains the case. Having missed the Grizzlies’ last three games with sesamoiditis in his right great toe, Pippen will now undergo a season-ending sesamoidectomy to address the issue. Jackson extended his streak of double-digit scoring performances to 13 games on Thursday, with efficient shooting leading him to finish as one of two Grizzlies with at least 20 points. He missed a couple at the line and was cold from beyond the arc, however, leaving some points on the floor. Jackson hasn’t consistently contributed in many other ways of late, but has shown the potential to be a good rebounder. Wells was active on both ends of the floor on Thursday. On offense, he was primarily a scorer, using the free-throw line and strong efficiency both inside and outside the arc to land good scoring production.
