The Bulls have made multiple changes to the lineup that started Tuesday’s loss to the Nuggets, with Jones and Smith replacing Ayo Dosunmu and Isaac Okoro. Chicago is still awaiting the return of Coby White, who has not played at all during the preseason due to a calf injury. If he’s unable to play in the Bulls’ season opener against Detroit on October 22, it’s conceivable that Jones or Dosunmu fills the resulting void in the starting lineup.

Okoro is dealing with a sore knee and will not play in Chicago’s preseason finale. The knee first became an issue during Tuesday’s loss to the Nuggets, with the Bulls holding Okoro out for the entirety of the second half. Hopefully, he’s healthy enough to contribute when Chicago opens the regular season on October 22 against the Pistons. That said, while Okoro can be an effective defender, he does not offer enough offensive value to impact fantasy basketball.

Giddey’s first preseason outing was a dud, but since then, he has reminded us why he’s going in the third round in Yahoo! drafts. This game in particular is what fantasy managers are hoping to get from him often this season. If this level of well-rounded production is something Giddey is capable of providing consistently, he’ll be worth the early selection.

Buzelis has been a stud throughout the preseason, and that continued in this game. He made an impact on both ends, which showed up in the box score. He’s rising up draft boards, and his ADP is now inside the top 100 in Yahoo! leagues. Buzelis has a chance to pop in his second season in the league.

Unfortunately for Ball, he’s going to be on minutes restriction due to his injury history to begin the season. With Darius Garland (toe) possibly unavailable to start the year, Ball is an option to pick up the slack with 20 minutes off the bench at a time. While the minutes restriction undoubtedly caps Ball’s fantasy upside, the Cavaliers’ offense is good enough for him to produce. He showed as much by nearly recording a double-double in 20 minutes against the Pistons on Tuesday. Ball is a late-round flyer at best in fantasy basketball drafts.

Mobley had just eight points on 13 attempts including missing all five of his three-point attempts. The 24-year-old center had 21 points in his last outing against the Bulls. It was just an off-night offensively for Mobley, who has made great strides with his offensive game. He still filled up the rest of the stat sheet. Mobley will look to bounce back on the opening night of the regular season as this was the Cavaliers’ last preseason game.

Coming off a 22-point game in his last outing against the Bulls, Mitchell picked up right where he left off by dropping 13 points in the first quarter. The 29-year-old shooting guard cooled off after that and ended up with five turnovers in 29 minutes. It was an uneven performance, but that’s what the preseason is for. Mitchell is an excellent selection in the second round of fantasy basketball drafts this year.

Coach Billy Donovan said the intent is to use the time between their final preseason game and the regular season opener to ramp White up and get him ready for game action. Tre Jones started the last two preseason games, but he will likely return to a reserve role when White is healthy.

Giddey stuffed the stat sheet with points, rebounds and assists in this one, tacking on a useful block and three-pointer in the process. The nightly triple-double threat should be a valuable option for fantasy managers in 2025-26, and his ADP has taken him as high as the third round in some drafts given his massive upside.

Buzelis is putting together a strong preseason ahead of Year 2, and fantasy managers are hopeful that this is a sign of things to come once the 2025-26 season tips off. He’s a popular, late-round option in fantasy basketball leagues, though his ADP has climbed steadily since the beginning of October.

For a second consecutive preseason game, Dosunmu came off the bench and logged a productive offensive outing. In Thursday’s win, he led all Bulls players in field goal attempts and points in his 22 minutes, despite shooting 25.0 percent from beyond the arc. Dosunmu had a strong 2024-25 season when he was healthy and available to play. He looks to be in line for another solid campaign in his fifth NBA season.

Giddey was much more aggressive in Thursday’s contest against the Cavaliers than in Tuesday’s. He got up more shots than any other Bulls starter, and although he didn’t shoot efficiently, he finished as one of the team’s top scorers on the evening in 22 minutes of game action. The fifth-year guard also made his usual impact as a scorer and rebounder, and appears to be ready for another strong fantasy basketball season.

Jones earned his first start of the preseason and provided the Bulls with a well-rounded performance. The former San Antonio Spurs point guard had similar production on Thursday as the preseason opener, reaching double figures in scoring and impacting the game with a high steal total. He’s impressed thus far and could end up being a nice backup option to projected starting guards Josh Giddey and Coby White during the regular season.

On the heels of an efficient 17-point outing in 18 minutes on Tuesday, Hunter needed just 24 minutes of action to efficiently hit the 20-point mark on Thursday. The former veteran forward mainly utilized the three-point shot to find scoring production on Thursday, but also showed active hands on the defensive end to accumulate three stocks. Hunter was one of three Cavaliers starters to score in double figures on the night, and overall, he has performed well through limited preseason games.

After playing 18 minutes and logging seven points on 3-of-5 shooting in Tuesday’s preseason opener, Mitchell was much more aggressive in his minutes on Thursday. The superstar guard led all Cleveland players in field goal attempts en route to finishing as one of three Cavaliers starters to score at least 20 points. Mitchell was efficient both inside and outside the arc while racking up stocks on the defensive end. Off a stellar 2024-25 campaign, Mitchell will enter the 2025-26 season as a likely top-10 shooting guard in fantasy basketball drafts.

Mobley showed off his versatility against the Bulls in his 26 minutes of game action. He needed just 10 shots to eclipse the 20-point mark, while tying a team-high in assists and being active on the defensive end. Thursday’s performance marked the second of the preseason in which the reigning Defensive Player of the Year had a positive impact on both ends of the floor. He should be in store for another stellar fantasy basketball season.

Tre Jones enters the Bulls’ starting lineup for their second preseason game, replacing Kevin Huerter, while Zach Collins enters the starting lineup for Nikola Vucevic. Huerter will come off the Bulls’ bench, where 10 players logged minutes on Tuesday. Chicago defeated Cleveland in the preseason opener and will look to earn its second victory.

Knox, the ninth overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft, is still looking to lock down a consistent home for himself in the league. He finished last season with the Warriors, making 14 appearances for the team after spending time in the G League. By signing Knox to an Exhibit 10 contract, the Bulls hold his G League rights. If waived, Knox would receive a bonus of $85,300 if he were to spend 60 days with the Bulls’ G League affiliate.

Cleveland added Proctor with the 49th pick in June, and after a strong summer league, his first preseason outing was a productive one. It’s still early, but he’s looking like a steal for the Cavs at this point. It’s unlikely that he plays a significant role as a rookie, but he’s worth stashing in dynasty formats.

In his first game of the preseason the reigning Defensive Player of the Year was able to quickly make an impact on both ends of the floor. The defense was expected, but his continued improvement as a floor spacer has just made him even more dynamic. Mobley has been a fantasy monster for multiple seasons, but he still has more room to grow.

Porter Jr. has long been a dynasty sleeper, and when he’s gotten the opportunity to play big minutes, he has been productive. His biggest weakness has been his deep-range shooting, but he showed improvement by making all five of his three-point attempts in this one. It’s too early to say that he’s made a genuine leap, but it’s worth keeping an eye on, since he has the potential to be a fantasy stud.

The second-year wing got the starting nod with Darius Garland (toe) and Max Strus (foot) sidelined, and while he wasn’t able to get any shots to fall, he still made an impact on this game, specifically on the defensive end. He played all his minutes with the starters, and there’s certainly a chance he opens the regular season in the starting lineup, making him potentially worth a late-round pick.

Essengue got his first taste of preseason action on Tuesday night after Chicago selected him with the 12th pick this summer. It wasn’t a spectacular debut, and Billy Donovan didn’t get him in the game early; he only ended up playing 14 minutes. He may have to work for his spot in the rotation, but Essengue will be worth keeping tabs on during his rookie year.

Coming off a strong finish to his rookie season, Buzelis was productive in his first preseason game of year two. Coby White (calf) will remain sidelined for most of the rest of the preseason, and his eventual health will impact Buzelis’ usage, but it was good to see him be prioritized on offense early on.

Coby White (calf) isn’t playing, so it’s unclear if Huerter or Okoro will end up as the fifth starter for Chicago this season. Huerter has more upside in fantasy basketball, but Okoro is the superior defender, which is much needed in this lineup. The hope is that White is available to play by the end of the preseason, so Huerter and Okoro could view the next few preseason games as a tryout for the final starting spot.

With Darius Garland (toe) and Max Strus (foot) both sidelined, Hunter and Tyson will occupy spots in the starting lineup. Hunter was expected to start, but Tyson comes as a surprise after not seeing the floor much during his rookie year. It’s the first preseason game, so this doesn’t lock him into the role to start the regular season, but he’s worth keeping an eye on as a dynasty stash and potential late-round sleeper in redraft leagues.

Due to Ball’s injury history, Monday’s report that he’ll be under a minutes restriction to begin the season is unsurprising. As for back-to-backs, Cleveland will play its first on October 26-27, the team’s third and fourth games of the regular season. Ball, acquired from the Bulls in late June, has dealt with knee issues and injured his wrist late last season. With Darius Garland (toe) not a lock to be available to start the regular season, some pinpointed Ball as a potential late-round option as he helps fill the void. However, the minutes limit lowers his fantasy ceiling in the short term. Look for Craig Porter Jr. to be in the mix for rotation minutes early on if Garland cannot play.
