Garland has already been ruled out for Monday’s game against the Magic, but was on the floor earlier in the day, according to Cavaliers head coach Kenny Atkinson, who also declined to comment on whether or not Garland will play in Cleveland’s upcoming five-game west coast road trip. The seventh-year pro has had a tough time staying healthy this season, having only appeared in 26 games thus far. Yet his return to the floor is noteworthy and could be seen as encouraging news for fantasy basketball managers.

Coming off a 47-point outing against the Pacers on Friday, Gilgeous-Alexander had just 24 points in Sunday’s loss to the Raptors. Mitchell topped 30 points for the second consecutive contest as he hoisted a season-high 30 shot attempts while also dishing out nine assists. It was an impressive all-around effort for the 29-year-old fantasy star as he continues to deliver first-round fantasy value, averaging 29.1 points, 4.8 rebounds, 5.8 assists, 1.5 steals and 0.2 blocks through 43 games. Tyson has been hot-and-cold from a scoring standpoint but he’s scored in double figures in eight consecutive games since January 10. It looked like he was on the verge of a monster performance, supplying 15 first-half points on 5-of-6 shooting, including a perfect 3-of-3 from beyond the arc. He cooled off considerably in the final two quarters, notching just two points. The 23-year-old has made a significant leap this season, morphing into a borderline top-100 overall fantasy contributor.

Joe started on Friday but was one of many Thunder players to struggle. He went without a made three-pointer for the first time since January 9 against Memphis, and wasn’t able to make much of an impact in any other area. Holmgren was highly productive in his 33 minutes of game action. In the loss, he made more than half of his shot attempts, contributed from beyond the arc, and was stellar on the glass. And to complement his offensive success, Holmgren added a few blocks on the defensive end. The strong two-way performance isn’t anything new for the former Gonzaga Bulldog. He should remain a nightly double-double threat the rest of the season.

Gilgeous-Alexander did all that he could on Friday to collect a win in the Finals rematch against the Pacers, but even a near 50-point performance wasn’t enough to secure the win. The reigning MVP worked mostly inside the arc to get his buckets and was his usual productive self from the free-throw line. His four assists weren’t particularly high, but it’s notable that he tied a team-high in this game. He came up with a couple of stocks to boost his production from a fantasy standpoint. The Bucks had no answer for the reigning MVP, who was on his “A game” Wednesday night. Gilgeous-Alexander’s three misses were shots that he usually makes at a high clip, and he finished three rebounds shy of a triple-double. Tyson wasn’t able to stay as hot as he was on Friday, when he scored a career-high 39 points. However, he was able to remain a productive option for fantasy managers. Hunter followed up a poor two-game stretch with two solid performances in consecutive games against the 76ers. While he was able to score in double figures once again, it came inefficiently. Both the poor shooting and turnovers limited the impact that his rebounds and free throws would have made. Cleveland was missing multiple rotation players for this game, and other starters were struggling, which made this outing from Tyson so vital. He set a new career high for scoring and had the game-winning assist to Evan Mobley. Tyson also set a career high for three-pointers. He has had an excellent second season in the NBA and has benefited from a multitude of injuries on the perimeter. The Cavs haven’t had as much success as they did last season, which can mostly be attributed to all the games that rotation players have missed. However, Tyson has blossomed and should be an important piece for them for the rest of the season and beyond.
