Pippen Jr. won’t play on Friday, as he manages through his recent return from offseason toe surgery. He’s played just three games this season, posting averages of 10.7 points, 4.3 assists, 2.0 steals, and 20.0 minutes. He’s shown in his brief action that he can still be a productive player. Caldwell-Pope will undergo surgery to address the misalignment of his right pinky finger, with the Grizzlies expected to provide a return timeline afterward. With Spencer Jones set to be upgraded to a standard contract, the Nuggets will have a two-way contract slot to work with. According to Charania, the team has decided to use the available slot to sign Simpson. The 42nd overall pick in the 2024 draft, the 6-foot point guard was waived by the Hornets after the trade deadline. A hip injury sidelined Simpson before Charlotte waived him, so there’s no guarantee he’ll be available immediately upon signing with the Nuggets.

He was only one turnover away from this being an unglamorous quadruple-double. It certainly wasn’t an efficient performance for Jokić. He struggled from the floor and the free throw line as well to go with the abundance of turnovers. This was the second time in their last three games that Mashack started for the Grizzlies. The former Tennessee Volunteer was drafted late in the second round this past summer, and after not seeing much time to start his career, he has taken on a larger role over the last five games.
