The 22nd overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft, Whitehead struggled to stay healthy throughout his time with the Nets. Waived just before the end of training camp in October, he has spent this season with Oklahoma City’s G League affiliate before Thursday’s move to Memphis. Durant played more of a facilitating role in Wednesday’s victory. He was Houston’s leader in assists, which nearly led him to a double-double. One noteworthy stat was Durant’s two turnovers, making his high assist total even more significant. The two-time Finals MVP will certainly have better nights as a scorer, but he did what was required of him to help the team to a fourth consecutive win.

Sheppard had the hot hand against Milwaukee. All but one of his 15 shots were three-pointers, and he finished just one made triple away from logging 10 makes. Şengün showcased his versatility in Wednesday’s victory. As a scorer, he produced at the free-throw line, inside the arc, and from deep, en route to finishing as one of the Rockets’ leading scorers. Inactive for Monday’s loss to the Suns, Small was inserted into the Grizzlies’ starting lineup on Wednesday. While he did shoot the ball well, the overall impact was somewhat muted. Cam Spencer (10/1/8/1 with one three-pointer) and Walter Clayton Jr. (10/1/5 with two three-pointers) are under standard contracts while Small remains on a two-way deal, making them safer options for managers considering which to add off the waiver wire.

Between the 17 minutes of game action and the seven field goals he attempted, there weren’t many opportunities for Jackson to produce on Monday. Fresh off a game-winning putback layup, Thompson put forth another efficient scoring performance, albeit in a loss.
