Phoenix’s disappointing 2024-25 season ended with a loss to Sacramento on Sunday, and head coach Mike Budenholzer was fired the following day. Booker may be the only “safe” player on the roster in what should be a busy summer for the franchise. He’s eligible to sign an extension worth $ 149.8 million over two seasons, and according to Windhorst, the Suns intend to offer their star guard that deal. With Phoenix not having control of its first-round pick for the rest of the decade, they’ll likely have to part with Kevin Durant or Bradley Beal (or both) to change the roster’s makeup significantly.

After missing Friday’s game against the Suns, Johnson was available for San Antonio’s season finale. He ended up being their leading scorer off the bench to help them end the year on a high note. Johnson’s season was disappointing as his points, rebounds, assists, three-pointers and minutes all took a big hit. He averaged just 12.7 points, 4.8 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.1 triples in a 23.9 minutes per game, though he was available for 77 games. He may not be a great fantasy option, but Johnson is a really strong reserve scorer for a Spurs team that should make a return to the postseason next year.

Though he didn’t have an efficient shooting performance, Castle was able to close out his rookie season on a high note. This was his eighth-straight game with at least five assists, and he has scored at least 20 points in four of those games. Castle will likely be named the Rookie of the Year for this season, and he has a bright future ahead of him. However, while he will have a good chance to start for the Spurs next season, he may not make the same statistical impact with the rest of the team healthy.

Paul has had another solid season, though it has gone under the radar at times. However, with an appearance on Sunday, Paul was able to play in all 82 games for just the second time in his career. That is wildly impressive for a point guard who will turn 40 years old next month. Paul is nowhere near as productive as he once was, but he is still one of the best passers in the league at his age. As long as he is playing, there won’t be many players in the league who can match his combination of assists and steals with limited turnovers. Paul is a free agent this offseason and should be able to find a home if he wants to continue playing — his fantasy value will probably hinge on what kind of role he can find.

Dunn finished his rookie season with a double-double and a complete stat line on Sunday. While his season-long fantasy value was low, ranking outside the top-300 in eight- and nine-cat formats, Dunn did enough to earn consistent rotation minutes. He would move into the starting lineup for good in mid-March, providing top-150 value in nine-cat formats over the season’s final month. Like many other Suns, projecting Dunn’s fantasy value next season is difficult, as the roster should look far different.

Despite being replaced in the starting lineup by Mason Plumlee (4/5/3 in 22 minutes), Ighodaro still played more minutes in Sunday’s finale. The rookie center had moments in which he showed promise, but Mike Budenholzer’s rotation and the overall state of the Suns did not do Oso any favors. Ighodaro has the talent to be a factor in deeper fantasy formats, but that depends on what Phoenix’s roster looks like next season.

Jones finished his first season in Phoenix with a solid effort on Sunday. However, this was a disappointing campaign for a player believed to be the answer for the Suns at point guard. Jones fell out of the starting lineup in late February, with Sunday’s start being one of two he made over the season’s final six weeks. A 12th-round player in nine-cat formats because of his high assist-to-turnover ratio, Jones was ranked outside the top-150 in eight-cat. Depending on what the Suns’ roster looks like next season, Tyus will be a late-round option at best in standard league drafts.

The Suns played their season finale without Devin Booker and Bradley Beal, allowing Allen to figure prominently in the offensive game plan. He shot the ball well, making over 50 percent of his attempts, and fantasy managers in active leagues also benefitted from the assist tally. After a standout 2023-24 campaign, Allen returned to earth regarding fantasy value, finishing just outside the top-175 in eight- and nine-cat formats. His prospects for next season depend on how the Suns’ roster looks, as there is a clear need for change in Phoenix.

Vassell will miss San Antonio’s final two games, a somewhat fitting end to his 2024-25 campaign. Due to injury, he missed 14 of the Spurs’ first 19 games and struggled to get going once wholly healthy. The good news for fantasy managers is that Vassell was far more impactful after the All-Star break, which enabled him to finish as a top-100 player in eight- and nine-cat formats. He’s capable of being much better than that, but Vassell has surpassed 65 games played once in his first five NBA seasons.

Booker will sit out Sunday’s season finale with a sore calf. While expected co-stars Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal did not hit 65 games due to injuries, Book made 75 appearances and provided top-25 value in eight-cat formats. He’s a safe bet to offer that production level, but it’s pretty clear that significant changes need to be made in Phoenix this offseason. Whether or not that involves Booker remains to be seen. Collin Gillespie should move into the starting lineup on Sunday.

The Suns have nothing to play for on Sunday, so Beal will sit for rest. To say this was a disappointing season for the veteran guard would be fair, as injuries limited him to 53 appearances. His absence means more playing time for Grayson Allen, who can provide points and three-pointers in that role. As for Richards, his fantasy impact after being traded to Phoenix was not what many managers hoped for. His continued absence means Oso Ighodaro will stay in the starting lineup, allowing the rookie to provide deep-league value.

Gillespie remains on a two-way contract, making games like Friday’s extremely important as he looks to carve out a consistent role. He played well enough over the past month to earn rotation minutes in Phoenix, but the franchise appears to be headed for significant changes once this disappointing season concludes. Sunday’s game in Sacramento should allow Gillespie to log substantial minutes, especially if the Suns sit Devin Booker and Bradley Beal.

Booker’s playing time decreased on Friday, playing 28 minutes in the Suns’ home finale after logging 40 in Wednesday’s loss to the Thunder. Of course, Phoenix was eliminated from postseason contention earlier in the week, so there’s no need for Booker to play starters’ minutes. For that reason, fantasy managers should plan for the possibility that he does not play in Sunday’s season finale in Sacramento.

Beal has surpassed 20 points in his last two outings, but it’s a “too little, too late” case for one of the most disappointing teams in the NBA this season. The veteran guard playing 28 minutes with nothing on the line was surprising, but Friday’s game was also Phoenix’s home finale. If he plays at all, fantasy managers in active leagues should anticipate Beal’s playing time being limited for Sunday’s game against the Kings.

Dunn had the best night of his rookie campaign in the Suns’ final home game of the season. He surpassed 20 points for the first time, and the double-double was his second. While Phoenix’s elimination from playoff contention may result in the veterans not playing as much, or at all, that isn’t a concern for Dunn. Fantasy managers in active leagues should ensure he isn’t sitting on the waiver wire ahead of Sunday’s finale against the Kings.

With Harrison Barnes shut down at halftime, Mamukelashvili started the second half of Friday’s game. The 2021 second-round pick had a productive night, shooting over 50 percent from the field and finishing one block shy of a complete stat line. Since Barnes is looking to play all 82 games, he’ll likely start Sunday’s game against the Raptors. But there should still be plenty of playing time available to Mamukelashvili, who can provide value in those situations.

The betting favorite for Rookie of the Year honors, Castle finished Friday’s defeat with his sixth double-double. He also only committed two turnovers, efficiently making plays for his teammates. Chris Paul (one assist and two blocks) only played 14 minutes on Friday; his focus is on playing all 82 games. If a similar approach is taken for Sunday’s season finale against the Raptors, Castle will again spend more time as the Spurs’ primary playmaker.

Champagnie started Friday’s game as Devin Vassell was out with a sore left ankle. Add in Harrison Barnes (two points, five rebounds and one assist) only playing 15 minutes, and there was ample room for Champagnie to put up numbers. He’s scored 20 points or more in four games this season, one more than his first two NBA seasons combined. While Barnes will likely start Sunday’s season finale against the Raptors, his minutes will likely be limited since the goal is to play all 82 games. That raises Champagnie’s ceiling, especially if Vassell remains out.

Durant has not played since March 30 due to a sprained ankle. With Phoenix no longer in postseason contention, there’s no reason for the star forward to return to the court if he isn’t completely healthy. The lingering question is whether Durant has played his last game in a Suns uniform, as significant changes could be made after this disappointing season.

While Beal was solid from inside the arc on Sunday, shooting 8-of-14 from two, he struggled from three and at the foul line. The Suns guard missed all five of his three-point attempts and was 0-of-2 from the charity stripe, which was a lousy way to end Week 22 for Beal managers hoping for better percentages. The Suns trail 10th-place Dallas by two games in the loss column and have a game in hand heading into the regular season’s final week. However, if they’re to have any chance of closing the gap, they need more production from Beal.

Booker put on a show Sunday night, but his issue was that he didn’t have much help. While his 2-of-7 night from three was subpar by his lofty standards, the other Suns combined to shoot 2-of-27. Injuries to Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal have forced Booker to shoulder even more of the offensive workload, which has impacted his turnover count. Averaging 3.9 per game, Booker is ranked outside the top-100 in nine-cat formats over the past two weeks despite scoring 26.7 points. The Suns play four games during Week 23 and may need to win out to have a chance of sneaking into the play-in.

Vassell has snapped out of his recent mini-slump, scoring 45 points across his last two appearances. Over the past two weeks, he has been a top-60 player in nine-cat formats, by far the Spurs’ most valuable option in category leagues. However, with the Spurs officially eliminated from postseason contention, it’s fair to wonder if Vassell’s minutes will decrease during the season’s final week. If so, that would be bad news for Vassell managers whose leagues will be active.

Castle has scored 22 points in four of his last seven appearances, including Sunday’s performance. However, efficiency remains an issue, with the rookie shooting 40.5 percent from the field over the past two weeks. Add in an average of three turnovers per game and limited defensive production, and Castle is ranked well outside the top-150 in eight- and nine-cat formats. That said, Castle is worth the risk despite those issues since his availability is not an issue.

Vassell missed Wednesday’s game against the Nuggets with an ankle injury, but returned Friday and played 36 minutes. He appeared to show no ill effects as he poured in 24 points on 18 shots including six made three-pointers. Vassell also added three steals on the defensive end. He’s a productive player when available, though the Spurs could look to cut his playing time as they look ahead to the draft.

Castle just missed a triple-double for the second consecutive game Friday against the Cavaliers. The 20-year-old shooting guard was just one rebound away from a triple-double after he finished just one assist away from a triple-double Wednesday against the Nuggets. Even without the triple-doubles, Castle is still putting up impressive outings as he pushes for the Rookie of the Year Award. He’s also turned the ball over just four times in his last two games after turning the ball over seven times against the Magic Tuesday.

With Kevin Durant (ankle) unavailable and Bradley Beal ineffective in his first game back from a hamstring injury, Booker was left to shoulder most of the offensive workload on Friday. He was excellent, shooting over 50 percent from the field and only committing two turnovers in his 38 minutes on the floor. Turnovers have been one of Booker’s issues recently, as he’s averaged 3.8 per game over the past two weeks. Friday’s performance was much-needed, and he’ll look to end Week 22 on a high note when the Suns visit the Knicks on Sunday.

Ighodaro made his fourth start of the season and first since March 21, replacing the inconsistent Nick Richards. The rookie had a solid night in Beantown, hitting double figures in scoring for the first time since March 14. Richards played 14 minutes off the bench, finishing with four points, seven rebounds and one steal. While Ighodaro did not set the world on fire with his performance, he likely did enough to hold the job for Sunday’s game against the Knicks. If Mike Budenholzer agrees, he’ll be worth streaming for Sunday’s game against the Knicks.

After missing Tuesday’s loss to the Bucks due to an illness, O’Neale returned on Friday and filled the void in the starting lineup left by Kevin Durant (ankle). The veteran wing did much of what’s expected, providing points, rebounds and three-pointers. While those who streamed O’Neale would have liked to get a steal or two out of him, the overall line was solid. He should get another start on Sunday when the Suns visit the Knicks.

The good news for Phoenix was that Beal could play 30 minutes without issue in his first appearance since March 16. The bad news was that he looked incredibly rusty against the reigning champs, missing all seven field goal attempts. Beal gave fantasy managers decent value in the assist and steals categories, but overall, this was a rough night. He’ll look to rebound on Sunday when the Suns visit the Knicks.
