Suns coach Jordan Ott said that he wanted to give Green an extra day of rest since he knew he wouldn’t play both legs of the back-to-back. Green will likely have his minutes limited, which means he could come off the bench in his first game back. However, he will suit up, which means Collin Gillespie is likely getting closer to heading back to the bench, while Grayson Allen and Jordan Goodwin will lose out on some minutes.

While his fantasy value has remained relatively low, Johnson’s status as a starter gives him some appeal during the “silly season.” The rookie guard shot 3-of-6 from three and did not commit a turnover in Monday’s defeat. Johnson isn’t a must-add right now, but it won’t be long until targeting him will be a worthwhile endeavor for fantasy managers.

Due to Trae Young’s continued absence, Carrington’s opportunities have not been an issue for fantasy managers. And that may make him worth the risk ahead of the “silly season.” A 39 percent shooter from the field over the past week, Carrington was considerably better than that on Monday. Add in the rebounds and assists, and Monday’s performance was a good one for the second-year guard.

George had an opportunity to give the Wizards a one-point lead late, but his three-point attempt fell short. That summed up the day for the second-year wing, who struggled with his shot and racked up six turnovers. Performances this inefficient have not been the norm for George this season, so fantasy managers should not be too concerned.

Middleton was back in the Wizards’ lineup after sitting out Friday’s loss to the Kings, pushing Justin Champagnie (13/9/1/3 in 26 minutes) to the bench. Middleton was productive in his 27 minutes, but the few who have him rostered should be hoping to see him traded before the February 5 deadline. Already not playing both games of back-to-backs, availability could become an even bigger issue for Middleton managers if he isn’t traded.

The good is that Sarr shot the ball well from the field and was active on the glass. The bad was that he had a brutal night at the foul line and did not record any steals or blocked shots. Saturday’s game was the best for George since returning from the hip injury that sidelined him for seven games. The 29 points were the most in a game for him since Washington’s second game of the season, and he was also effective setting up others. As long as he stays healthy, George should be a fantasy standout the rest of the season. Managers in 10-team leagues should ensure that he isn’t sitting on the waiver wire.

After a subpar performance in Thursday’s loss to the Pistons, Williams redeemed himself with a solid effort against the Knicks. While he did not record a blocked shot, Goodwin’s final stat line was a reminder of what he can provide on a nightly basis. After putting up 20 three-pointers in Thursday’s loss to the Pistons, Allen chucked up 13 more on Saturday. Carrington returned to the starting lineup for this game with Bilal Coulibaly (back) and Khris Middleton (knee) sidelined. He was able to bounce back after struggling in Wednesday’s loss where he shot 1-of-11. In this game, he was efficient as a shooter and nearly recorded his first double-double of the season. Carrington likely won’t remain in that role consistently, but he was able to have a productive night in an increased role. The 18 points were the most he’s scored in a game since December 29, when he scored 25 in a win over the Wizards. Devin Booker (ankle) was out on Thursday, which freed up a few more scoring opportunities for Gillespie. With no Devin Booker (ankle) in the fold, there were shots to go around for everyone within the Suns’ rotation. Bagley saw extended minutes on Wednesday after Alex Sarr was ejected in the second quarter against the Clippers. Bagley took advantage, using efficient shooting to record his best scoring game of January and attacking the glass hard for his first double-double since December 14. Robbins claims that “the plan is for [Young] to rehab his ankle in-house” and take his time returning to the court. The Wizards then anticipate Young picking up his $49 million player option for 2026, at which time they will see how well he fits alongside young players like Alex Sarr and Kyshawn George. Slow-playing Young this season makes sense, considering the Wizards’ first-round pick is top-eight-protected. That means that, if the Wizards lose enough games to pick inside the top eight in the 2026 NBA Draft, they will keep their pick, but if they pick outside of the top eight, the New York Knicks will control the rights to the Wizards’ pick.
