The homers were the two hardest balls hit in Triple-A games Thursday, leaving his bat at 113.1 and 112.2 mph. The Guardians had the right idea in getting Noel regular at-bats in Triple-A for a spell, but the 23-year-old should be back to help out at least against lefties in the second half.

The homer off lefty Joe La Sorsa went just 330 feet, but he hit to the perfect spot down the right field line. It was his first homer in 75 plate appearances this season, and it doubled his RBI total for the year. Thomas probably ought to be limited to starts against lefties for the most part, but given his hot start here since coming off the IL — he also reached three times on Monday before sitting Tuesday — regular playing time is a possibility.

Allen received 11 runs of support today, so solo homers from Elly De La Cruz and TJ Friedl didn’t hurt him much. Since the Guardians typically employ quicker hooks with him in close games, this is just his second quality start. He has three more outings in which he’s come up one out shy of the six-inning standard. Allen is 4-4 with a 4.28 ERA overall, and he’s likely to face the Giants next.

Dingler broke a scoreless tie in the fourth inning as he ambushed a first-pitch cutter from Dean Kremer and crushed a 372-foot (103.7 mph EV) solo shot. That would be his only hit in four plate appearances on the night. The 26-year-old backstop has done a very nice job at the dish this season, slashing .283/.313/.455 with the aforementioned seven long balls and 29 RBI.
