Baldwin made it a 2-0 lead for Atlanta with his homer off Brennan Bernardino in the first inning. He also doubled, singled and walked to improve his slash to .312/.391/.522 over the first 33 games of the year. Atlanta has looked like one of the best teams in baseball to begin the year, and Baldwin is a big reason for that.

Baldwin has been stuck on five homers for two weeks now, but he’s still hitting .313/.377/.510. He leads the majors in both runs (23) and RBI (21), though since he’s tied with five others in the RBI category, that might not be true by the end of the night.

Baldwin’s homer came in the first off Jose Soriano, and it was the only run — and one of only three hits total — that Atlanta was able to pick up off Soriano. That’s already five roundtrippers for Baldwin with a slugging percentage of .682 and 13 RBI over 11 games.

Baldwin not only hit a solo homer off Brandon Pfaadt in the first, but he tied the game in the ninth with a single off Jonathan Loáisiga. The 25-year-old has driven in 12 runs and homered four times in his sophomore campaign. Cal Raleigh still is likely to be the best fantasy catcher in baseball, but Baldwin has a chance of taking that crown.

Baldwin got things going with a two-RBI single in the second inning and then followed that up with a 107.4 mph double that drove in two more in the fourth. His day could have been even bigger if it weren’t for Denzel Clarke. Baldwin crushed a 102.8 mph ball to dead center field in the seventh inning that would have been a home run if Clarke hadn’t scaled the wall to pull it back. So far, Baldwin is more than following up on his impressive rookie season.

Baldwin has been crushing the ball since the very beginning of the spring, and he definitely looks like a top-five fantasy catcher at this point. He’ll probably DH on Monday against A’s lefty Jacob López, with Jonah Heim taking over behind the plate.

The 2025 NL Rookie of the Year got on the board in the third inning when he took Royals starter Cole Ragans deep for his first homer of the season. Baldwin DH’d on Friday and also fell victim to three ground ball outs, and is coming off a spring in which he slashed .349/.391/.674. Despite serving as DH on Friday, we would expect him to see a few starts at catcher with Sean Murphy (hip) on the 10-day IL.

The hard-hitting backstop opened the scoring in the top half of the first inning with a two-run single off of Taj Bradley. He then raced around to score on an RBI knock off the bat of Dominic Smith. Baldwin finishes the spring hitting .325 (13-for-40) with a pair of long balls and 11 RBI.

Baldwin is 10-for-30 with two doubles, two triples and two homers this spring, and it still seems like he really should be doing better. All three of his at-bats today resulted in 100+-mph exit velocities, and he’s an absurd 20-for-23 producing hard-hit balls on contact this spring. There’s a good chance he’s on his way to bettering the numbers that earned him NL Rookie of the Year last season.

The Twins scored four runs in the final two innings, but they couldn’t quite overcome Atlanta’s eight-run first inning. Baldwin is hitting .300/.300/.600 through 20 plate appearances this spring, but he could be doing even better. He has an 88% hard-hit rate on his 17 BBEs, and his four barrels have produced only one homer.

The Braves today had Baldwin hitting second, which could be his placement during the regular season. He finished last season batting cleanup, and he still might make more sense there if the Braves want to split their lefties. Walt Weiss said that wasn’t a big issue for him, though.

Baldwin received 21 out of the 30 first-place votes, with nine going to Cade Horton, who finished in second place. Caleb Durbin finished third and Isaac Collins finished fourth in the NL ROY balloting. The 24-year-old backstop broke out as Atlanta’s primary catcher, slashing .270/.340/.470 with 19 homers and an .810 OPS across 124 games. He’s the first catcher to take home the hardware since Buster Posey back in 2010.

Baldwin had a chance to play hero, but grounded out to second to end the game with runners on first-and-second in the ninth inning. The 24-year-old did contribute, however, with a solo homer that gives him 19 on the season. Baldwin is very likely going to finish second in Rookie of the Year voting behind Cade Horton, and that’s very much a compliment to Horton considering how good Baldwin has been for the majority of 2025.

Baldwin continued his assault on Tigers’ pitching over the weekend with two more hits on Sunday. The 24-year-old backstop hit an RBI triple off Casey Mize in the fifth inning to put the Braves up 3-0 in a game they won 6-2. Baldwin is hitting .273 with a .799 OPS and 76 RBI this year.

Baldwin drew a walk off of Charlie Morton with the bases loaded in the first inning, forcing in the game’s first run. He then capped off the Braves’ scoring with a 397-foot (103.5 mph EV) two-run shot off of Paul Sewald in the ninth inning. With his two-hit attack, the 24-year-old rookie backstop is now slashing a solid .271/.338/.448 with 17 long balls and 73 RBI.

Baldwin hit his 16th homer in the ninth inning off Orlando Ribalta to extend Atlanta’s lead to 11-3. Still counts. Baldwin also had a pair of run-scoring singles, and the three-hit game pushes Baldwin’s average to .268 while increasing his OPS to .761. The 24-year-old has enjoyed an excellent rookie campaign, and will likely receive significant Rookie of the Year consideration from NL voters this fall.

Baldwin takes a seat after making nine consecutive starts between catcher and DH since September 3. The 24-year-old rookie backstop has seen a significant uptick in playing time since veteran counterpart Sean Murphy hit the injured list last week. It’ll be journeyman Sandy León handling the catching duties in this one.

On a night where the Braves couldn’t do anything offensively against Phillies’ starter Jesús Luzardo, they scratched out a run in the eighth inning to tie the game. Baldwin then stepped in as a pinch-hitter and ambushed a first-pitch sinker from Jose Alvarado in the ninth inning for a go-ahead 368-foot (100.8 mph EV) two-run blast. The 24-year-old backstop is having a terrific rookie season for the Braves, slashing .280/.351/.462 with 15 homers and 62 RBI.

Baldwin entered the game as a pinch-hitter for Nick Allen with the score tied in the eighth inning and grounded out to second base. He then atoned for that with a two-run single in the ninth inning that increased the Braves’ lead to 5-2 before scoring on Ronald Acuña Jr.'s bases-loaded walk. The 24-year-old backstop has been a tremendous addition to the Braves’ lineup this season, slashing .279/.344/.458 with 14 homers and 60 RBI in 331 plate appearances.

Baldwin drove in a run with a base hit in the fifth inning and scored on a home run by Marcell Ozuna. He then brought two more runs in to score with a single in the sixth. The 24-year-old rookie catcher is having an excellent first season in the majors, hitting .289/.357/.477 with 13 homers and 51 RBI across 294 plate appearances.

Baldwin and teammate Marcell Ozuna went back-to-back off of Marlins’ right-hander Eury Pérez in the home half of the first inning to give the Braves an early 2-0 lead. He then pulled them to within a run with a 422-foot (106.5 mph EV) three-run blast in the sixth inning. The hard-hitting backstop then tied the game with a run-scoring single in the seventh. With his three-hit attack, the 24-year-old slugger is now slashing a mighty .287/.356/.484 with 13 homers and 46 RBI through his first 280 big league plate appearances.

Baldwin was the one person to put bat to ball against Hayden Birdsong during his first-inning meltdown and got a three-run double on one of the right-hander’s few pitches in the strike zone. That alone matched Baldwin’s high-RBI total for the year, and then the rookie added three more on a single in the fourth and a double in the sixth. Now that the Braves seem to have committed to him as a regular, with Marcell Ozuna dropped from the order, Baldwin should be viewed as a top-10 fantasy catcher.

Baldwin shellacked a homer with a pair of runners on in the first inning to give Atlanta a 4-0 lead. The rookie backstop has a dozen homers over 62 games with a very solid .278/.353/.489 slash. This version is awfully good, but it’s reasonable to think that Baldwin can be even better.

The home run was No. 10 for Baldwin on the year. The 24-year-old catcher hit a two-run home run off Charlie Morton in the sixth inning. Baldwin continues to play behind Sean Murphy despite the rookie out-pacing the incumbent in OPS. Baldwin is in a precarious position, though, with Murphy signed through the 2028 season. Perhaps he’ll need a change of scenery to receive more regular playing time. Baldwin is hitting .274 with an .824 OPS and 28 RBI on the season.

The Braves offense was mostly quiet in this one besides a futile ninth inning rally and Baldwin’s impressive blast. He got his barrel on a two-strike slider from Clay Holmes that was diving low out of the zone and somehow sent it 433 feet to straight away center field. Even this blurb is not doing it justice. He has serious power and has hit so well during this rookie season that he’s somewhat overtaken Sean Murphy at catcher.

Baldwin finds himself behind the plate for the fourth time in the last five games as he continues to carve out an even greater role during his rookie campaign. The 24-year-old backstop has been one of the more impactful catchers in the fantasy landscape, hitting .288/.355/.471 with eight homers and 25 RBI across 52 games. His emergence has relegated veteran Sean Murphy to more of a true backup role in recent days.

Baldwin came into the day just 9-for-41 (.220) in June, so this was a positive step. The rookie has been solid for most of the season and could see an uptick in playing time later in the summer since Sean Murphy’s name has come up in numerous trade rumors with the Braves six games under .500 and now without Chris Sale.

It’s highly unlikely the Marlins would have overcome a 4-0 deficit in the ninth, but Baldwin put the matter to rest in the top of the inning with his home run off Josh Simpson. It was his first homer since June 5 and eighth of the year. He drove in three runs for the first time as a big leaguer.

Baldwin’s strong start to his rookie campaign has resulted in a roughly 50-50 split of Atlanta’s catching duties along with veteran Sean Murphy over the past few weeks. The positive for fantasy managers is that the 24-year-old backstop has consistently occupied the second spot in the lineup behind top-of-the-order igniter Ronald Acuña Jr. Baldwin has cooled off a bit after a sizzling-hot stretch a couple weeks ago, but he’s remained a viable mixed-league option for fantasy purposes.

The 24-year-old rookie backstop jumped on an 0-1 cutter from Zac Gallen in the fourth inning and clobbered a 378-foot (104.0 mph EV) solo shot that got the Braves on the board and made it a 4-1 ballgame. That would be his only hit in four at-bats on the evening. Baldwin has been outstanding for the Braves this season, slashing .318/.364/.518 with the aforementioned six long balls and 16 RBI in his first 117 plate appearances. Even in limited at-bats, he certainly has mixed league viability given how well he has produced at the plate this season.
