Goodman is off to a .264/.340/.540 start with six homers in his first 24 games. Brett Sullivan will draw a day-game-after-a-night-game start at catcher against RHP Matt Waldron.

Goodman smacked his sixth homer of the season with a solo shot off Wandy Peralta in the eighth inning to extend the Colorado lead to 8-2. He also singled twice while drawing a walk, and his slash improved to .264/.340/.540. After a bit of a scuffle over his first couple handfuls of games, Goodman is back to swinging the stick that made him one of the breakout backstops of 2026. There’s very little reason to think he’s going to slow down much in the coming months.

Goodman put the Rockies on the board early, taking Colton Gordon deep for a solo homer in the first inning. He did it again in the fifth, leading off the frame with a solo blast off AJ Blubaugh for his second round-tripper of the game. The 26-year-old backstop is off to a solid start at the dish, hitting .254/.333/.475 with four homers, 12 runs scored, and seven RBI across 66 plate appearances.

It’s an encouraging sign that Goodman is back handling the catching duties following a pair of games at DH over the weekend after suffering a finger laceration last Thursday. The 26-year-old backstop is hitting .241 with two homers and five RBI through 16 games.

It’s an encouraging sign that Goodman was feeling ready to hit after being removed from Thursday’s game against the Padres due to a lacerated finger, which was the result of his being hit by a pitch on the hand. The 26-year-old should be ready to return to Colorado’s lineup at some point this weekend.

Goodman was drilled by a 95.1 mph fastball from Randy Vasquez in the sixth inning. It’s unclear how much time (if any) the injury will cause the hard-hitting backstop to miss. The Rockies should have another update on his status prior to Friday’s ballgame.

It’s the second straight game in which Goodman has been drilled on the hand, this time it was a 95.1 mph fastball from Randy Vasquez. It looked like initially he wanted to remain in the game, but after the training staff was attempting to treat it, Goodman’s fingers were still bleeding so he was pulled from the ballgame. Presumably he’ll head for imaging just to see if there’s any fractures. Expect the Rockies to provide an update on his status after the game.

This comes after he got his first day off of the season on Tuesday. Goodman is batting .257/.327/.409, but it’s kind of disturbing that he’s struck out 17 times already. Today’s game was his first without a strikeout since Opening Day.

Goodman absolutely clobbered a 435-foot homer off Max Scherzer, and it was the only run of the game for the Rockies. The 26-year-old backstop hit 31 roundtrippers in 2025, and he’s a good bet for a similar number again in 2026.

Goodman was the only player on the Rockies to tally more than one hit in Friday’s loss to the Marlins. The 2025 All-Star was robbed of his first RBI on the season when a single to right field that nearly scored Jake McCarthy from second resulted in McCarthy being thrown out by Austin Slater. Goodman broke out for 31 homers and 91 RBI last season while slashing .278/.323/.520 and is among the top fantasy catchers this season playing in the hitter-friendly confines of Coors Field.

Goodman ambushed a first-pitch fastball from Ron Marinaccio in the fourth inning, crushing a 394-foot (105.8 mph EV) solo shot that tied the game at 1-1. The 26-year-old slugger is off to a bit of a slow start this spring, hitting just .182 (2-for-11) with a homer, two RBI and four strikeouts. He’s firmly entrenched as a top five option at the catcher position for fantasy purposes.

Goodman led off the game with a solo homer off Justin Verlander to put the Rockies on the board early. He then knocked a base hit in the third and drew a walk in the fifth to reach three times on the day. The 25-year-old slugger has hit 31 homers with 91 RBI while slashing .278/.323/.521 across 575 plate appearances.

As a team, the Rockies were only able to muster five hits in the ballgame, all of them singles. Goodman smacked a two-out single off of Kyle Hendricks in the first inning and another off of Luis Garcia in the ninth inning, but the Rockies were unable to cash him in either time. He’s enjoying a tremendous season in the middle of the Rockies’ lineup, slashing .281/.327/.527 with 30 homers, 88 RBI and one stolen base in 550 plate appearances. He’ll be in the conversation for the second overall catcher off the board in 2026 fantasy drafts behind only Cal Raleigh.

Goodman’s only hit of the game left the yard as he took Kirby Yates deep for a solo homer in the ninth inning. The 25-year-old backstop is up to 30 home runs and 87 RBI while hitting an outstanding .282/.327/.540 across 511 plate appearances.

Goodman also singled and drew a walk. The homer was the 28th of the season for the backstop, and that along with the RBI double gives him 85 on the campaign. Goodman is built for Coors Field — not many hitters aren’t, but, it’s worth mentioning, anyway — and there’s plenty of reason to think he’s going to contribute for the rest of 2025 and beyond.

Goodman’s 408-foot shot to left-center off Dennis Santana in the ninth would have been a homer in 29 ballparks, but not PNC. Goodman has six homers this month anyway. Cal Raleigh (66) and Salvador Perez (53) are the only catchers with more extra-base hits than Goodman’s 52.

Goodman, who entered the night in a 6-for-36 slump had an RBI single in the sixth and a two-run double in the eighth. He overtook Salvador Perez and now ranks second among catchers with his 72 RBI this year. He’s a mere 30 behind Cal Raleigh for first place.

Goodman took Brandon Pfaadt deep for his 25th homer of the season while leading the Rockies to their 33rd win of the year. One of those totals is a lot more impressive than the other. The 25-year-old backstop also drew a walk and is slashing a commendable .277/.326/.532 over 404 games. His .859 OPS is now the 20th best in baseball.

Goodman’s 23rd homer of the season gave the Rockies a 2-0 lead in the fourth inning. The 25-year-old has been arguably the biggest bright spot for Colorado in 2025 with an .840 OPS with 66 RBi in 104 games. That’s faint praise because, well, look at the record, but Goodman is deserving of his flowers.

Goodman swatted a two-run blast for his 18th homer of the season. The 25-year-old All-Star has been one of the very few bright spots for a team that needed to win Saturday night to get to 50 games under .500. He also singled twice to improve his slash to a very strong .282/.329/.528.

There haven’t been any rumblings about the 25-year-old All-Star backstop dealing with any sort of injury, but he did sit out the final game before the Mid-Summer Classic and he’s sitting on Friday night as well which is at least a bit curious. Austin Nola will start in his place behind the dish on Friday night and bat eighth against Chris Paddack and the Twins.

This certainly qualifies as a surprise since MLB.com’s Thomas Harding reported on Monday that veteran catcher Austin Nola was being called up from Triple-A, which seemed to signal that Goodman was headed to the injured list. The 25-year-old backstop will handle the catching duties on Tuesday night following a four-game absence due to a hamstring issue.
