The 34-year-old slugger served his time from brawling with Braves’ right-hander Reynaldo López last week. He returns to a .231/.342/.508 slash line with five homers and 18 RBI in 79 plate appearances through his first 18 ballgames. Fantasy managers have to be thrilled with the power production that he has provided to start the season.

And so ends the Soler suspension drama. The 34-year-old was suspended for seven games last Wednesday, but appealed the suspension and continued playing. While fantasy managers waited to see when the suspension would be official, Soler went 6-for-29 with three home runs, eight RBI, and six runs scored. Soler can return on Sunday against the Padres, but get him out of your lineups now if you can.

Soler doubled in the third inning and came around to score on an RBI single by Yoán Moncada, but the veteran righty did his most damage in the eighth inning when he hit a grand slam off reliever Sam Moll to push the Angels’ lead to 10-1. It was the fourth homer of the season for Soler, who pushed his RBI total to 15 on the young season and is currently riding a six-game hitting streak and three-game home run streak.

After making headlines for the wrong reasons on Tuesday night, Soler came to the plate in the second inning and blasted his third home run of the season. A looming suspension is set to kill the momentum he’s built up so far with three home runs and 11 RBI, which are tied for the eighth-most in the league to this point.

Both are appealing, which means that Soler remains in the Angels lineup until after the hearing takes place. The two traded punches in front of the mound during the fifth inning of Tuesday’s game in Los Angeles after López threw up-and-in on Soler, who was hit by a pitch in his previous at-bat following a first-inning homer. The two were previously teammates in Atlanta back in 2024.

Soler and López traded punches during a chaotic donnybrook that erupted during the fifth inning at Angel Stadium after a high-and-inside pitch. Soler clobbered a two-run homer off López back in the opening frame before being drilled hit by a pitch his next time up. Amazingly, it was Braves manager Walt Weiss who delivered a textbook tackle to bring Soler to the ground and help break up the brawl while Mike Trout managed to corral López, who somehow held onto the baseball throughout the entire incident. There will undoubtedly be suspensions handed out by the league after one of the wildest on-field melees in recent years.

Soler was responsible for three of the Angels’ eight walks. He also was responsible for one of the three homers with a two-run shot off Cristian Javier. The 2025 season was a disaster for Soler, but he’s not long removed from being one of the better power threats in baseball. It’s feasible he posts similiar results in 2026, but it’s more than understandable why fantasy managers would take a wait-and-see approach.

Soler is batting .361/.452/.750 in 43 plate appearances, and it looks like he’ll open the season in the cleanup spot ahead of Yoán Moncada, who seemed in line to bat fourth at the beginning of the spring. He could be helpful in shallow leagues initially, particularly for teams looking for power over batting average.

It’s tempting to write off Soler after he hit just .215 over 82 games last season, but with Mike Trout returning to the outfield, Soler can DH regularly, which should help him avoid problems like year’s back woes, and rack up plenty of at-bats as the Angels’ No. 4 or 5 hitter. In his career, Soler’s OPS is about 70 points higher when he DHs than when he’s in the outfield.

Soler went deep for the first time this spring, sending a line-drive out to left field in this one. The 34-year-old veteran masher was limited to just 82 games during his Angels debut last season because of persistent back issues. He’s one of the stronger bets to reach the 20-homer mark in a full season but he doesn’t offer much else from a fantasy production standpoint at this stage of his career.

Soler was placed on the IL on July 26 and then later moved to the 60-day IL on September 8. He has been ramping up his activity at the Angels’ complex out in Arizona, but it’s unlikely he will make it back in time to play any games this week. He has one year left on his contract, so he figures to be the starting DH for the Angels in 2026 and will hope to improve on his .215/.293/.387 slash line to go along with 12 home runs and 34 RBI in 82 games.

Soler can still be activated from the injured list at any time, but it appears his season is likely over. The 33-year-old slugger spent more time in right field during his Angels debut than anticipated due to Mike Trout’s ongoing knee issues and would up hitting the shelf for good back in late July with lower back inflammation.

Soler has been on the IL since July 26th with lower back inflammation. Provided his back responds well to the swings, Soler could start a rehab assignment later this week and perhaps return early in September.

Soler was removed from Wednesday’s game with tightness in the back, and the Angels won’t go short-handed while the 33-year-old is unavailable. This could be a shorter stint on the IL if there are no setbacks, but for now Gustavo Campero takes Soler’s place on the roster.

It’s the second straight game that Soler has missed after exiting Wednesday’s contest against the Mets due to tightness in his back. There haven’t been any rumblings yet about requiring a trip to the injured list, but if this lingers through the weekend the Angels’ hand may be forced on this one.

Soler has been battling a lingering back issue for nearly a month at this juncture, which has cut into his playing time recently. The 33-year-old is presumably day-to-day heading into Thursday’s series opener against the Mariners.

Soler has been dealing with some nagging issues as of late, and it appears that has something to do with the early exit for the 33-year-old. Chris Taylor has moved to right field from third base, and Kevin Newman has taken over at third. Specifics on why Soler left Wednesday’s game should be available shortly.

The 33-year-old slugger victimized Mets’ right-hander Frankie Montas for his 378-foot (106.7 mph EV) solo shot to open the scoring in the second inning. That would be Soler’s only hit in four at-bats on the night. For the season, he’s slashing an underwhelming .216/.294/.388 to go along with 12 long balls and 34 RBI.

Soler started each of the first three games following his return from the injured list, so they’ll give him a breather as they ease him back into a full-time workload. Gustavo Campero will start in his place in right field and bat eighth against Eric Lauer and the Blue Jays on Friday evening in Toronto.

The Angels scored a run on an RBI double by Jo Adell in the top half of the eighth inning to take a 1-0 lead then Soler followed with a two-run double that seemingly put the game out of reach at that stage. A fun night for Soler to victimize his former ballclub in his first game back off the injured list. On the season, the 33-year-old slugger is slashing an underwhelming .209/.287/.356 with eight long balls and 28 RBI.

Mike Trout still isn’t seeing any outfield time, so Soler, who missed two weeks with back inflammation, will have to contribute as a right fielder for now. He’s been quite the liability to this point, having hit .207/.280/.350 with about as many strikeouts (79) as total bases (83) in 265 plate appearances. LaMonte Wade Jr., who has been seeing most of the time in right field of late, will likely be more of a bench guy now.

The Angels optioned Scott Kingery on Monday, and no corresponding move has been announced yet. The Orange County Register’s Jeff Fletcher reported that Soler said over the weekend that he was very close to being ready, and he did travel with the team to Atlanta. That means Soler could be activated for this series; however, he’s slashing 207/.280/.350 with eight home runs, 26 RBI, and a 30 percent strikeout rate, so fantasy managers may want to see more production before adding him.

The 33-year-old slugger hadn’t played since Tuesday and wasn’t making any progress in his recovery, so the Angels did the right thing and shut him down to make sure that the injury heals properly. Gustavo Campero was recalled from Triple-A Salt Lake to take his place on the club’s active roster.

Soler has struggled all season, hitting just .207/.280/.350 with eight home runs, 26 RBI, and a 30 percent strikeout rate. This back injury might be an opportunity to place him on the injured list and give him a brief reset. Jo Adell will move to right field with Soler out of the lineup, and Scott Kingery will start in center field and bat seventh.

Soler will get some extra rest during Wednesday’s showdown against the Yankees with Luis Rengifo heading out to right field in his place. The 33-year-old veteran slugger went 0-for-4 with a pair of strikeouts on Tuesday night and is just 5-for-42 with zero extra-base knocks since June 1. He’s presumably day-to-day for now.

Soler is 5-for-42 with no extra-base hits and a 17/4 K/BB this month, leaving him with an awful .207/.280/.350 line for the season. It’s not like the Angels’ alternatives are really any better, but given his lack of defense and any ability to contribute on the basepaths, Soler is quite the liability when he’s not mashing.

Soler missed time earlier in the week due to a groin injury so it’s likely that they’re taking a cautious approach and easing him back into full-time action. LaMonte Wade Jr. will start in his place in right field and bat seventh for the Halos against Tomoyuki Sugano and the Orioles on Saturday evening in Baltimore.

Soler is back in right field and batting fifth on Tuesday night at Angel Stadium following a brief two-game absence recovering from a lingering groin issue. It doesn’t appear to be a serious concern moving forward, but the Angels are likely to be cautious with his workload to avoid a setback.

Soler is getting some extra time off to rest and recover after dealing with a lingering groin issue last week. The 33-year-old veteran outfielder appears likely to avoid a trip to the injured list, but it wouldn’t be shocking to see him sitting out a few additional games this week. It’ll be Chris Taylor continuing to handle right field during his ongoing absence.

Soler will sit out Sunday’s series finale after aggravating a lingering groin issue during Saturday’s contest. The 33-year-old veteran slugger might be able to avoid a trip to the injured list, but he’s going to get some extra time off to put the issue to bed. It’ll be super-utility specialist Chris Taylor taking over in right field on Sunday afternoon.
