Brown worked around a pair of walks in a 26-pitch first inning. He then induced ground ball double plays to strand runners in the second and third. Brown had his best inning in the fifth, striking out the side for his first clean frame. He retired all three batters in the next inning to complete six shutout while striking out four. The 26-year-old right-hander has gotten off to an incredible start, posting a 1.50 ERA, 0.83 WHIP, and a 22/5 K/BB ratio across 24 innings. He’ll take on the Blue Jays in Houston on Monday.

Chapman was summoned to record the final out of the ninth inning with the Red Sox leading by three runs at the time and needed just five pitches (three strikes) to fan Curtis Mead to end it. He’s converted all four of his save opportunities this season and appears pretty much locked in as Boston’s primary closer.

Fedde worked a clean first inning, then stranded the bases loaded in the second. He worked some magic once again in the fourth, escaping with the bases loaded for a second time. A double and a base hit in the sixth would score the first run of the game to put the Astros ahead. The 32-year-old right-hander did an excellent job limiting Houston to the one run while striking out five, but took the loss with no run support. Fedde will take a 3.43 ERA, 1.14 WHIP, and a 10/11 K/BB ratio across 21 innings into a start against the Mets in New York on Sunday.

Buehler got plenty of early run support from Boston’s offense and managed to limit Tampa Bay’s red-hot lineup to just three hits, including a second-inning solo homer by Jonathan Aranda. He struck out three and also handed out three free passes. He’ll bring a pedestrian 5.23 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 17/5 K/BB ratio across 20 2/3 innings (four starts) into a favorable home matchup on Monday against the White Sox.

Realmuto delivered a solo shot off Justin Verlander in the first inning. It was 387 feet, but since it was just a little left of dead center, it was a homer in only seven ballparks, according to Statcast. Realmuto has been hitting into bad luck this season, so he’ll take it. He’s obviously not what he used to be offensively, but he’s still a top-10 fantasy catcher. He’s greatly enhanced his fantasy value early this year by going 4-for-4 stealing bases.

He gave up one run, narrowing the Phillies’ lead to two, before Strahm retired the bottom third of the lineup in order in the ninth. It’s Strahm’s 10th career save. He had four for Boston in 2022 and then two and three in his first two years in Philly.

The Athletic’s Dan Hayes reports Miranda hurt his hand earlier this week when he dropped a case of water while shopping at Target. It’s one of the more bizarre injuries you’re going to see all season. The problem here is that the Twins are dealing with several injuries at the big-league level and Miranda won’t be an option to replace them.

The 34-year-old hurler allowed six hits on the evening and didn’t walk a batter. All of the damage done against him came via the long ball, with Austin Riley crushing a solo homer in the opening frame and Matt Olson adding a solo shot in the sixth. It’s worth noting that Alvarez was hit by a pitch on his surgically-repaired left hand in the late stages of the game, but managed to remain in the contest. He spent six innings behind the plate in this one. He figures to be ready to rejoin New York’s lineup at some point in the coming days, but will likely need a couple additional rehab games to get back up to speed.

The Yankees weren’t able to muster a single run through the first five innings of the ballgame, but they rallied against Michael Wacha in the sixth inning with an infield single from Aaron Judge and a pair of two-out walks. Austin Wells then worked Angel Zerpa for a walk to score the Bombers’ first run and Domínguez followed with a three-run double that proved to be the difference in the ballgame. He also singled twice in the ballgame, finishing the night 3-for-3. On the season, the 22-year-old outfielder is slashing .275/.362/.431 with one home run, eight RBI and a pair of stolen bases.

We might need a review on that. While the ball was definitely crushed, Statcast put it at 117.4 mph, which is rare air indeed. Again, it’d be the hardest hit ball of this Giancarlo Stanton-less season. It’d top his previous high in 45 major league games by five mph (112.5 mph). He topped out at 114.9 mph in Triple-A, so maybe 117.4 isn’t impossible. If it’s legit, we’d have to reevaluate everything here. He’s already off to a nice start with his .320/.393/.480 line in 56 plate appearances. He also has only a 25% strikeout rate, which is really impressive for a player who annually topped 35% in the minors until last year.
