No word yet on the severity of the issue, which will determine how much time Puk winds up missing. Fantasy managers should prepare for the possibility of an extended absence since it’s elbow-related. The 29-year-old lefty has been a key component of Arizona’s relief mix this season, recording four saves to go along with a strong 3.38 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 35/12 K/BB ratio across eight innings (eight appearances). There should be some clarity on his status in the coming days. His absence should lead to Justin Martinez handling the bulk of the save opportunities.

Mantiply has been jettisoned to the minors after playing a starring role during Friday’s sudden implosion against the Cubs at Wrigley Field. The 34-year-old southpaw recorded only two outs and was charged with three runs in an eventual loss. Not great.

MLB.com’s Kennedi Landry reports that Langford rejoined the Rangers at Globe Life Field on Saturday after wrapping up a minor league rehab assignment, but told media members he won’t be activated until Sunday’s series finale against the Dodgers. The 23-year-old rising star, who is hitting .244/.333/.561 with four homers and two steals in 12 games this season, has been on the shelf since April 9 recovering from a right oblique strain.

Horn has been summoned to replace an injured John Brebbia (triceps) in Detroit’s bullpen ahead of Saturday’s game against the Royals. The 27-year-old southpaw was acquired back from the Cardinals back in mid-March. He struggled last year in 18 relief appearances for the rebuilding White Sox.

It’s a significant hit for Detroit since Brebbia has allowed just two runs — one earned — with a 9/5 K/BB ratio across nine innings (eight appearances). No word yet on how much time the 34-year-old veteran reliever is slated to miss.

It’s the first day off this season for Rodríguez, who has started 20 consecutive games since Opening Day. The 24-year-old franchise cornerstone has hit a bit of a cold spell of late, batting .172 (5-for-29) with one RBI and one steal over his last seven games. He’s hitting just .179 with three homers, eight RBI and five steals on the year. It’ll be Luke Raley in center field on Saturday afternoon in his place.

It’s been a long road back for Hendriks, who last pitched in the big leagues on June 9, 2023 when he was a member of the White Sox. The 36-year-old veteran righty will be available out of the bullpen for Saturday’s showdown against Chicago at Fenway Park. He’s unlikely to be thrust back into high-leverage situations right away, but he figures to work his way into those spots in the near future.

Dobbins has been shipped back to the minors following Friday’s spot start against the White Sox to make room for veteran reliever Liam Hendriks. The 25-year-old righty has allowed four runs — three earned — with an 11/2 K/BB ratio across 11 innings (two starts) this season at the highest level. There isn’t room for him at the highest level with Brayan Bello (shoulder) potentially back next week from the injured list, but he’s shown enough in these outings to earn another shot.

Kelly has been hotter than the surface of the sun of late with Friday’s two-homer explosion raising his full-season OPS to a surreal 1.675 mark. The 30-year-old backstop has never showcased this level of elite offensive firepower previously, so we’re anticipating some regression. However, that doesn’t mean his transformation into a viable mixed-league catching option isn’t real. Kelly should be rostered in all fantasy formats by this point after hitting .419 with six homers and 18 RBI in just 11 contests. He’s not going to catch every single day for obvious workload reasons, but he’ll be an impactful fantasy contributor when he’s behind the plate for Chicago.

Young will take the ball on Saturday against the Reds for his highly-anticipated big-league debut. The 26-year-old top pitching prospect gets the call after posting a strong 2.76 ERA, 0.92 QHIP and 17/2 K/BB ratio across 16 1/3 innings (three starts) for Triple-A Norfolk. There’s some legitimate streaming appeal here for fantasy managers in deeper mixed leagues based on his ability to miss bats. However, there’s also some significant risk as he acclimates to facing major-league hitters for the first time, especially since he relies on command as opposed to overpowering raw stuff.

Norby has gone 2-for-9 with four strikeouts in a pair of contests since returning from a three-week stint on the injured list with an oblique strain. It’ll be Graham Pauley at the hot corner on Saturday afternoon in Philadelphia. The 24-year-old has an opportunity to establish himself as one of the centerpieces of Miami’s lineup and possesses an intriguing blend of fantasy-relevant tools. He’s worthy of a speculative roster spot in deeper fantasy formats.

Monteverde has shifted to a full-time relief role this season in the minors after spending the last few years as a starter. Carpenter has batted mostly second, cleanup or sixth on Tigers manager A.J. Hinch’s lineup card, so it’s notable that he’s been bumped up to the leadoff spot for Saturday afternoon’s tilt. The 27-year-old slugger is off to an excellent start this year, hitting .292 (19-for-65) with five homers and 10 RBI through 20 games. He’s a legitimate 40-homer threat, if he can avoid the injured list, which has been a problem in recent years.

Doyle was put on the bereavement list earlier this week on Thursday, which means he will miss at least three to seven games under league rules. The additional time off should benefit the 26-year-old center fielder since he’s missed the club’s previous six contests prior to Friday’s rainout with a lingering left quad issue. It’s unclear how much time he’s going to miss, but fantasy managers shouldn’t expect him back until sometime next week.

Ozuna made his return to Atlanta’s lineup for Friday’s showdown at Truist Park after sitting out the club’s previous three-game series north of the border against the Blue Jays due to hip inflammation.
